      Breadandmuffins:
      hi

I dont think there is any thread on the top classes in P3 of SJIJ. The school does not openly ranked the boys or the classes.
Curious to know which are the top 2 classes in SJIJ but I found out that the classes differ each year.

Met up with my DS's form teacher and they do rank all the boys. I was shown his position in class and his overall position for whole P2 standard. With the latter, he told me what the chances are for my DS to be top 2 classes in P3 .

Arghh! And everyone tells me to let my DS relax in P1 and P2. Apparently not. P2 results eventually determines if our boys are good enough to go to the top 2 classes in P3. I happen to think if our DS can do well, I would like him to be in the top 2 classes. Now I have to ensure he studies hard for the next half year to catch up!

      Sorry to interrupt this thread!

I was actively pursuing this thread when I was in the process of apply for my son to get into SJIJ during the P1 registration in 2010. Now he is already in P2. How time flies.

Can someone kindly refer me to another relevant thread which covers the topic pertaining to the top 2 classes in P3 of SJIJ?

      Thank you so much!!

      hi lynnchng

i am also not too sure what does CONT TIME stand for but during the hour 1.00 to 1.30pm there is no class cause class only start at 1.30pm on Wed.

i believe the form teacher takes care of all subjects, it seem to be πŸ˜‰ except MT

contact time. this is when the teachers have a weekly staff meeting and the kids are left in the care of the parent volunteers. 1 hour.

Apparently there are no parents volunteer during contact time. That's according to my ds. I asked him if he was sure and he asked me for my iphone so he can filmed the chaos of all the kids running berserk and playing without any teachers or parents volunteers around!

Wow, But a lot of students right? How did u manage to find your boy? :?

But if can go into the compound, that means the security is not tight?

you are supposed to get a pass at the guardhouse when you go in apart from picking up times.

Apparently not. I drove into the school at 3.30pm and even slowed down at the guardpost. The lady guard did not stop me neither did she asked me the purpose of my visit. 

R u guys going to the HYPY workshop on 22 Jan?? :?

Nope. I put my DS at Jiang Education Centre so saw their teaching materials. I find their teaching method on HYPY good enough so I don't need to pick up tips from SJIJ

I didn't sign up for any CCA, quite inconvenient coz of the transport. Did u pack extra PE shirt for him?

I wanted to go and peek at him during recess time but I think they surely won't allowed right? Was at the area just now. Haha...

Ds told me that he ate super fast yesterday during recess time, coz he was afraid that he might get scolding from discipline master!

Now they have discipline master?? :?

I gave him $1.50 for pocket $, he spent $1.40 on a bowl of noodle and drink. Left with 10 cent. He told me his buddy is a big brother from p5. And the big brother treated him to a piece of sushi coz he got no money to buy the sushi!

Quite surprise with the canteen food. Got sushi, noodles, etc. Sounds quite good leh, but i dunno about the quality of the food lah. I haven't been to the canteen, any of u went to the canteen before?

      :? :?
      Hi Smurf

I went to peek on my boy during recess today. No problem getting into the school at all. I even drove into the school and parked there without any issue with the school guard who was at the guardpost at the main gate. Quite fun watching my boy interacting with his new friends without his knowledge.

      hi smurf

so far i have been giving him $2.00 which i think i will reduce to $1.50 cause I realized when they have more money, they will tend to spend unnecessary. that day bought one can of Milo for $1.10!!! :!: so expensive!

my son is still blur sotong, ask him what happened in class, he will reply with alot of unrelated things :stupid: & most of the notes that his teacher has passed to him has become crash ball in his bag!

my DH is now asking me to pack food for him instead cause he does not think the canteen food is healthy

i hope things will be better in another few weeks times πŸ™

btw, any 1 Michael parents out here? just need to re-confirm information that my son has told me cause at times, really wonder whether he is relating the correct information or situation...*sign*...
My DS is in 1 Gabriel.

I give him S$3 allowance every day. He spent about S$2-S$2.40 daily for 1st few days on food and drinks from vending machine. He even had ice-cream on Fri! Hmm.....did not realized that I gave him too much allowance until i read your postings! Anyway, I did tell him not to buy drinks from vending machines as they are more expensive and that he should drink H2O instead. He is a good boy and did just that after. He saves the remaining allowance in his piggy bank. Yesterday, he spent only 70cts on some jelly.

      hi twogreatkids

yes, our boys are definitely soccer mates  wondering can we let them wear their own clothing for the soccer since it is conducted by external vendors, at least not white T-shirts! πŸ˜‰

my boy is in 1 Michael.

btw, anyone can advise me does school starts later on Wednesday? cause saw from the time table, lessons only start at 1.30..

Hi P1 parents! How was your first day experience? I was so excited for my boy though he was the least bothered. Spoke to one of his classmate 's parent and the live in Woodlands. Gosh, the boy will board the school bus at 10.50 am daily for school. How early is that? And God knows what time he’ll reach home. Poor thing!
