      Oh that's goodno written test!

      Yes! :xedfingers:
At least still get shortlisted for interview already very happy for my DD. Don't expect her to get any offer (unless she's really tat good)..but I'm just happy she can get through interview experience in this top school. I'm not sure though is it all applicants get the chance to interview or NYGH really vet through all applicants' achievement before shortlisted for interview? 🀷 Any parents know?

if you go online, u will see the status is \"shortlisted for interview\"... hehe
How long is your interview? I think there may be a short test....

i think the general direction is DSA to account for 20% for 'O' Levels, and higher for IP. Competition in top secondary schools has gotten rather silly in recent years, where around 50% got in via DSA, mostly via academic, which defeats the original aim of DSA. There were also complaints that GEP students got free passes into top schools, although some were not really any better than main stream students. Let's hope this year heralds a more reasonable DSA process.

DSA via general academics is still there, so not sure how reasonable it can be this year...

No more general academics this year.

      (1) For those who get to interview, half the battle won. The school probably want to see you in person to see how you present, see how confident if you are ready for their school & interview performance will determine if the school wants you or not. At this stage, if you are not call for HDP, that means you no need to be tested on academic domain. Probably the school have confidence in your school results or credentials that you submitted during the application. Then, you just have to wait if you will be further notify or not. Just pray hard get CO after this stage.
      (2) For those who have interviewed before, and was asked to attend the domain test again, chances are the school probably have doubt in your standard, may be half-convince, hence the test will reaffirm their confirmation if the students' standard are able to be on paw with their school's standard. If the students make it through in their test, chances are high for the good news too.
      (3) For those who just called up for HDP to take domain test - also 50-50% chances. This test will filter away those weaker ones & students who did exceptionally exceptionally well - will get noticed by the school & call up for interview. Those who stand-up from others will get further notify if the school is keen to speak with your child.

The above is my guess only...don't shoot me huh! Actually this DSA is also like speculation game, making parents guess here & there.! πŸ˜‚

How accurate is this? πŸ˜‰ and what made you derive these guess?

I also thought this is how they select....

Hi, any parents with experience in RGS DSA.. will appreciate if can share share....

I am quite surprised RGS has called for interview before the subject test. Does all the kids have to take a Maths test after their interview?

What type of questions will be tested in the RGS DSA Maths test ? Will it be similar to RIPMWC type?

      πŸ˜“ πŸ˜“

My DS attended RI DSA Maths test last Saturday. The test comprises of MO related questions (60 Marks) and the paper is bit tough but compare to RIPMWC it’s easy.

Paper 1 – one hour duration
      25 Questions (30 Marks)

Paper 2 – one hour duration
      5 Questions (30 Marks)

Thanks, GS2005! All the best for your DS' DSA. :hi5:
