Hi parents,
Would like to know what's the pulling factor for choosing Anchor Green? Seems like not many ppl choose to register for this school. Anybody can give me any inputs on this school?
My dd is in P.5 this year. She has been enjoying school a lot.

My ds is in a more popular school. Comparing the 2 schools from a parent's perspective, I personally like the management style of AGPS more. I've written to the school for different matters. For each of the occasion, I got timely and constructive response from the school. During school dismissal, I've also seen the principal for couple of times, being there to observe and give necessary guidance and help to teachers and parents.

Of course, what parents can see could be limited. So the above is just my own observation and feeling.
Same with ABRSM music exams. Postponed indefinitely. Even those who finished in March are having problems receiving the certs/results I think, since ABRSM UK is in chaos right now.

So DSA using various routes/domains will be affected. Not only sports.
My DS had his piano practical exam in early March and we rec'd the cert in late March.
That’s good news! Will be be using it for Music DSA?
Unluckily, my DS who obtained his result is only in P3. My DD is the one who needs DSA next year... but both her practical and theory exam are cancelled... as well as SYF. Seems I have no choice but to let her focus on PSLE 😞

Learning something here..haiz..dd seems to be having difficulties even not in ip and I wonder why, well partly I think it is the social issues, she was feeling sad thinking nobody wants her for group work and when she voiced out her desire for certain sections she finds her voice not heard and realises those in there (what she wanted and voiced out) are cliques...dont think I have time to look into her subjects in esp the next 2 mths..but remind myself to look at her marks tho..at that very moment seeing her emotional says she is trying hard she wants to go jc..without thinking much, I just tell her that if dad and mom could afford it then, we will send her to overseas..am I taking short cut/running away from issue, I asked myself....
Dun think it's \"short cut / running away from issue\" ... There's nth much parents can do abt their social issues. At most, we remind / give advice here & there a bit abt how to interact with peers, but ultimately no one can help.

So what u offer to your dd is the most a parent can do to ease her pressure...

• RE: Club Seng Kang

Hi All, I am new to the area.

Have been looking for a preschool for my 4YO DS but preschools in the area are soooooo fulllll.
Apart from small DS, I have a 6YO DD, who is going to P1 next year. Thinking of things to let them do (in case we have to wait long for a place @ preschool) in the daytime when I am out for work. Any enrichments or home-based cc to recommend? Thanks all.

:thankyou:

May I know the lead-time for hiring a new maid too - that is, the time between your confirmation to hire a maid and she is physically on board? Thanks much.

• RE: [Hougang/Punggol/Sengkang] Preschools

I am urgently looking for a preschool for my kid (who was born in 2011) and have sent quite a number of emails to your centre but got no feedback so far. Can anyone help? Thanks.

my world preschool:
Dear Parents,

Our new centres such as MY World @ Seng Kang and Tiong Bahru are full air conditioned. While other existing centres have only their multipurpose room and infant care rooms air conditioned, we are currently looking into upgrading all centres into fully air conditioned facility. However, this process will take a fair amount of time to execute.

As parents, you experience MY World first-hand through your interaction with our principals and teachers, as well as vicariously through the eyes of your little ones. We endeavour to be a trusted partner in your child’s development and education.

MY World adopts a learner-centred teaching approach (Wonder, Discover, Learn) that engages children’s learning through active participation, inquiry and reflection. Children will have opportunities to learn and acquire knowledge, skills, character traits and learning dispositions in the six key areas.

• Aesthetics & Creative Expression
• Discovery of the World
• Language & Literacy
• Numeracy
• Physical & Emotional Well-being
• Social & Character Development

Beyond the basic curriculum, MY World also offers enhancement programmes (on an opt-in basis) that provide your child with exposure to swimming, drama, as well as music and movement.

Every child enrolled in MY World is given complimentary membership (Associate Youth Member) at Metropolitan YMCA. Families can upgrade to Family Membership to become part of the wider YMCA network worldwide and enjoy our programmes and facilities at special rates!
