Thanks for all the helpful replies, especially to jetsetter and porky pig!

I will proceed to book once discussed with fellow travellers.

Quite keen on the Prince Hotel blue twin room. Only concern is that there is only one bathroom/toilet - so can imagine it would be quite busy in mornings and bath-times.

This guest house concept is quite interesting - are they similar to the minshus in Taiwan. When I travelled to Taiwan, we stayed at one min-shu for a night. The owner stayed in the compound as well. Is the Korean guesthouse of same concept? So the owner prepares breakfast for you and may pick you up from train station etc?

I'm considering a few Seoul hotels to book for my holiday in June.

We are family with one teen daughter and we are travelling on our own via subway so I am looking for a hotel that is convenient for travel and restaurants (cos we are foodies).

Skypark is one recommended by parents. However, I notice there are a few Skpark I, II, III and Central. Which is better ?

Ibis is out cos they do not have rooms for 3 persons.

Also Metro sounds good but forummers mentioned renovation works - so I'm wary of noisy stay.

Has anyone stayed in Prince Hotel? Or Sejong? Or Nine tree ? Hope to hear from parents.

U may like to check out the reviews from tripadvisor?

      Mummychia,

Thanks for your suggestion - I have checked out tripadvisor reviews - just wanted to see if more reliable \"local views\" can be garnered. What to do - kiasu leh 😄

Ibis is very near to metro hotel too. The airport bus stops infront of ibis hotel & also very near to subway. Most of us choose metro because its value for $$, Ibis is more ex & the rooms are smaller.

Most tourists going to jeju will usually make their own way from Incheon to gimpo. There's bus & arex so its quite convenient to make the transfer. Normally most tourists will book the budget air like jejuair, easterjet, air busan etc to jeju. If u are considering Korean air, maybe u can call them for the reservation since u have multiple destinations?
Thanks mummychia for the info about Ibis hotel. Will check on the room size cos we are hoping to get one for 3 persons.

My hubby called Korean Air the other night and it seems they directed him to book with website. Apparently they don't help with reservations anymore. :lightrod:

About the flights, it appears that Korean Air also flies from Singapore to Incheon and requires passengers to make their way to Gimpo for the transfer to domestic flight to Jeju. So actually no difference. One forummer went to a travel agent Misa to get both flights sorted out.

I was thinking of doing same thing but hubby more keen to book direct with airlines. Korean Air website is quite tough to navigate for multi-destination booking. So I may just book the international flight with them and book the domestic flight direct with the Jeju or other domestic airlines. I’m new to Korea - any recommendations?

Getting worried cos time is running out…rather last minute planning on our part.

      Hi godiva

We have never flew to Jeju from Incheon before. Flew from Gimpo twice and the airport is fine. Most domestic flights (Jeju Air etc) depart only from Gimpo. Maybe only Korean Air depart to Jeju from Incheon. But we saw Korean Air at Gimpo too. You may want to check with Korean Air.

I have stayed in T.H.E. Hotel & Hotel December in Jeju.
We prefer Hotel December as it is value for money, clean and spacious for the Twin room (1 single + 1 queen size bed)

I have also PMed you the contact for the Jeju driver. We met a group of friends there who engaged another popular driver (among Singaporeans) but as we compared, we feel that our driver is better :please:
Hi Scaredlymum, Thanks a lot for your reply!

Hotel December looks like a very nice hotel. Will check it out.

Which hotesl in Seoul have you stayed at? Metro is quite recommended by forummers but seems it is undergoing renovations now and quite noisy. Someone mentioned Ibis hotel in Seoul. Has anyone tried Ibis Ambassor Seoul at Myeongdong? Is it good?

We need it to be conveniently located cos we intend to travel by mrt. Budget is $200+ per night.

I have been reading this thread from posts 2014 onwards.

I am planning a holiday to Seoul and Jeju in first week of June, with hubby and my teenager daughter.

this is our first time to Korea and would appreciate some suggestions.

I was thinking of flying to Seoul, then transfer to Jeju for 2 nights stay. Book a taxi guide for 2 days tour. Fly back to Seoul and stay for 4 nights.

Would anyone know which airport is better - Incheon or Gimpo - for flights to Jeju?

also will appreciate suggestions of taxi guide to Jeju - I have checked tripadvisor forum for names but some posts seem like self-advertisement, and so will be good if anyone has experience .

Also would anyone have suggestions of hotels in Jeju?

      Thanks in advance!

    • RE: English Language and Linguistics

Hi my daughter is in Sec 4 now and keen to find out about this subject.

Is there any prerequisite for this subject? Like need to get A2 for English or Lit at O levels?

Is this subject recognised in overseas UK university or Australian U or in US?

For example, I hear some subjects like PRinciples of Accounting are not recognised?

Do all JCs offer this subject>?

    • RE: Knowledge & Inquiry (KI)

Is KI recognised as a H2 subject for overseas universities?

If one is applying to do Law, would one have an advantage taking KI rather than GP? For both local U as well as overseas universities?
