Hi all, my girl is in primary one this year. Just in the first few weeks, I already struggling with her mandrian Hanyu Pinyin. Does anyone know whether is it appropriate to buy an electronic chinese dictionary now? So that I can actually check the pronounication and teaches her at home. And does anyone have any suggestion on the brand? Do you all think the school will suggest the buying at a later stage? Pls help....tks...

My kids are in P2 and P3. So far no use of electronic dictionary. However, make sure she finish the xuele online homework. It will help if she is weak. Don't worry too much on the Chinese. If the teacher din call you, your kid should be fine.

Yes.they did very well in PSLE 2011.

My daughter scored 260. Thanks for her wonderful teachers, especially Mdm Ang and Wang Laoshi.

She had no tuition for her entire 6 years primary education. Mee Toh teachers are really good!!!
Hopefully, the new principal can maintain the standard or better it.

One point I missed out for academic is that their Chinese standard is very good. I have only positive feedback for all the Chinese teachers in mts teaching my kids in p2 and p1 so far. For others aspects, no comments. Come in to find out. šŸ˜‰

Just to add. The upper primary students are usually polite and respectful.

It depends on what U are giving up. MTS is very good for character building. On the other hand, my opinion is that they lack the competitive drive to compete in everything from academic to cca. The homework is not a lot for P1 and P2. Of cuz, I am benchmarking against the known schools.

I am not sure what is the criteria now. My child is ranked 2nd in class. The 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th go to one class while my child goes to another class. The process is not transparent.

So, is your child going to 1st or 2nd class?

2nd class. He is ranked between 10 - 15 of the entire cohort.
