noob:
Thanks lot. the problem is she doesn't know what she wants seriouly, she just wants NYGH for being together with her friends, because most of them are going to NYGH. With her T score, will she be the bottom of the cohort in NYGH?My understanding is MGS SPC program is as good as GEP class. NYGS student will progress to HCJC at year 5 and take A lvl there. MGS will need to take 'O' Level end of year 4 , it all depends on what your child wants.grass-eater:
There goes saying - to be a big fish in a small pond than a small fish in a big pondttlkbs:

True. I agreed with you. My niece went to Ngee Ann with an aggregate of 250 last yr. She top in the Sec 1 cohort and she is very happy there. She have told me that if she has gone to any of the top school, she would not shine there.

RE: PSLE 2010 Results Report Here

haha, seems not so lah... EESIS is only for Singapore citizen, and apply 10/17 ratio to over all nation seems not accurate, after all too few top students, so they can not represent the ratio for allGuess the cop of RGS and NYGH:
2010 EESIS (for top 3%) is 260. total pupils are 45,049.
Top 3%: 45049 x 3%= 1352 pupils.
There are 10 girls in the top 17, 10/17= 58.82%, assume same ratio for all top 10% students.
Total girls in top 3%: 1352 x 58.82% =796 girls.
RGS + NYGH total have 1,000 places for girls, less those DSA and students from alliliate (NYPS),assume there would be less than 796 places left. therefore assume the cop of RGS/NYGH is around 260.
Of course there are some girls in top 3% won't go to RGS/NYGS, but NYGS has large students from affiliate NYPS (last year cop for affiliate was 250-276) which amounts would likely higher than those who won't apply NYGS in top 3%, this would cause NYGS cop higher than 260 again, say 261-262?
is this calculation make any sense?

Thank you for your reply! I also consider RGS or NYGH, can appeal both?grass-eater:
my daughter got MGS DSA offer and her T-score 261+3, is it worthy to appeal RV? which school is better? Can appeal more than one schools? If she can go to rv, her EESIS can be used in RV which is a government school? Thank you
EESIS can only be applied at Independent Schools, so no, she can't use her EESIS at RV. Have you considered RGS or NYGH for your dd? -
