I am staying in the East. Within 1 - 2 Km has more choices but the better ones are 2 - 3km. Basically the plan to move is also for the kids, I have 2 children so needed a bigger space for them to grow up comfortably [ Currently, they are bunking together in a room on mattresses :(. Trust most parents wants to give the best to their children within their means ].
Staying near the school is of course the top priority but we also need to consider other factors when selecting a landed property. That's why the dilemma.

tankee: The balloting was under less than 1km category.
My current residence was owned not rented and we did not purposely move to current location because of getting into this school, a few housing agent say it is ok to shift out once the child is registered in the school. We do not want to take un-calculated risk. -
RE: All About Home Addresses
My child has recently been balloted into a Primary School within 1km under Phase 2B. I’m currently staying in a 2 bedrooms Condo since 2008, thinking of upgrading to a landed House. However, the better landed houses were >1km.
Few months ago, I wrote to MOE to seek their advice about my situation but their response was quite standard like the earlier post in this forum, suggesting that one should stay at the address given at point of registration throughout the Primary School Education.
Can someone please advise if this rule has now became manadatory?
I have planned to meet the school principal to clarify on this issue before we execute the plan in case, in a year or two after we shifted, the school may ask my child to transfer to a school nearer to our new residence.
