However, I could not view the image attached. Do you know how to view them?
      Thanks.

By the way, how to improve the consistency in applying the usage of grammars correctly?

DD can understand the concepts and reply correctly when being asked verbally but she makes mistake occasionally when being left to do the questions. Is it due to lack of practices?

Assessment books are good if you know which area the child is weak in or which areas you want them to focus/ beef up on - then you can get those specific topics/ subjects.

If you just want overall practice, why not consider just get the past-year papers instead?
They cover the syllabus in the relevant time-segments (CA1, SA1, CA2, SA2)... plus your kid gets to practice a whole paper with all the different components from different schools.

Yes, I am going for specified areas for improvement but in the mean time i also want a book for overall practice. Otherwise dd will be happily watching her Ipad/ TV programs. :stompfeet:

P2 English and Chinese assessment books?

There're new publications but I've yet to browse them... Otherwise, (1) EL - http://sapgrp.com.sg/product/392 series (2) CL - https://www.openschoolbag.com.sg/product/primary/chinese-practice-1000-new-syllabus-%E5%8D%8E%E6%96%871000%E9%A2%98-2. If you can, wait a bit more for new editions (check the year published). Like this year, school has taken out 选择正确的句子 practices from P1&2 HCL (apparently a recent SEAB update).

Thanks Sky. I am panic whenever go to the bookstores as the assessment books are overwhelming. There are so many publishers with different subjects and targeted areas for each subject. It is hard to find one that could cover all.. If buy a few books can't finish too.. 😓 😓

    • RE: HCL Education Centre - Discussion

laughingcat, i have called the centre before going down later.

As i am looking at 2019 classes, i was informed that the teachers for 2019 classes are not fixed yet.

In any case, really appreciate for your sharing. I didn’t think of bringing her current test papers etc and let the teacher analyse them…well, nothing much to bring as her school is already following latest MOE with minimum tests…

Greenie13, you can jump to post page 43 for the example of Wang P1 compo that Sky has previously shared. Take a look at it and ask if your kid can read it. If the child can read it with at least 80% correct, then you can try WLC. Provided your kid can tahan the 3hrs and don't hate CL. Like what some readers have mentioned, WLC is not for the average kid in CL, as they may find it a struggle. My nephew is one such, ended up struggle for it and did not absorb much and the CL deteriorate. My SIL refused to listen to me, thinking the best in the market is the best for her son. But not true. One must find the right fit for the child. Finally took my advice, go to HCL. Previously my nephew CL is really just average or slightly lower than average, now at HCL manage to score from 53 to 79 for paper 2. My takes is find the right fit for the child.

To me, all CL tuition centre is good but whether can the child absorb is another thing.
      Laughingcat, thanks for the sharing.
I don't seem to find the compo materials posted by Sky. Perhaps she has removed it.
Yes, i do agree we need to find the right center fit for our children. I will take a look at HCL first with further possibility into WLC at upper primary depending on her results.
Really amazed by how much time and hard work you all have spent in this learning journey.. 😄

considering to change my girl P2 (2019) enrichment class to either HCL or WLC. Can any expert mummy that has experience with the above centres provide advice as to which center is a better choice? My girl is weak in making sentences, oral and listening comprehension. She had been attending other center since K2

Hello, our children are the same age. I'm sorry if this comes across as being curt. You should choose HCL Education; WLC is too challenging until your child can write complete sentences independently. My dd is already tackling inferential comprehension questions in WLC PCC class.

Both centres you listed are running yearend holiday programs. Do try them Both out & get an actual feel. I will be enrolling my dd in HCL Eds holiday program; I can then send you both centres' materials if you wanna compare.

Hi, do you mind to share a class session materials with me for WLC?
      Thanks.
