Hi all, my daughter is also very interested in SNGS ๐Ÿ™‚ May I know if there is any morning bus transport from Serangoon Ave 2 or 3 to SNGS? I tried calling Anna but couldn't get through. Thank you!

There is definitely a bus that covers Serangoon North. Is Ave 2/ Ave 3 part of Serangoon North? I any case, Anna is the one to go to, just try calling her again tomorrow.

Thanks for the information... Serangoon Ave 2/Ave 3 is nearer to Nex and Serangoon MRT station, so the bus that covers Serangoon North may not come to Serangoon Ave 2/Ave 3. I'll try to get in touch with Anna again, thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

No harm trying for SJI as first choice as you will never know how the cut off points goes.

Most would rank Chung Cheng High (Main) ahead of Maris Stella purely on cut off point.

Thanks emoh, if we put Catholic High School as first choice and Maris Stella as 2nd choice, my son will still have a high chance to get into Maris Stella?

U meant SJI as first choice and Maris Stella as second choice right ?

Maris Stella cut off was 234 so should still have a high chance to get into Maris Stella.

U may want to put in your appeal to SJI as well first just incase you are not posted there and you just miss the mark
Thanks emoh, DS' dream school is actually Catholic High School... but I don't think that the COP will drop that much (249 to 241).

I just want to confirm if my understanding of the posting system is correct - if DS puts Catholic High as 1st choice and cannot get in, he can still get into his 2nd choice school (Maris Stella), provided that Maris Stella still have places? And based on last year's COP of 234, it is likely that there will still be places?

Thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚

My DS got 239. Between Chung Cheng Main & Maris Stella, we will likely choose Maris Stella cos it is compulsory to take HMT in Chung Cheng Main & DS dun like Chinese.
Based on GCE 'O' Level results 2012
1) CCM - 95.2% gained eligibility for admission to JC
2) MS - โ—พJC Admission: 94.7% / โ—พJC / Polytechnic Admission: 99.5%

Thanks Shan, my son doesn't like Chinese too ๐Ÿ˜›

Hi h2tay,
If you are staying in the east side, how about Anglican High? If not wrong, can choose HMT or MT.
My concern with Maris Stella is the mac book which all boys need to buy & bring to school every day. Worried that we cannot control/limit him playing games on it.
Hi Shan
We are staying in Serangoon, so Anglican High is too far for us.

I understand your concern about excessive gaming, but it seems that the principal is confident that it is something that can be managed by the school and parents. On the positive side, I think that it is good that the school has this programme as IT skills is essential in this day and age.

DS got 241 and we are considering the following schools:

1. SJI (last year's cut off was 245, risky to try?)
2. Maris Stella High School
3. Chung Cheng High School (Main)

Between Maris Stella High School and Chung Cheng High School (Main), which is a better school?
DS prefers an all-boys school but somehow, I am more inclined to Chung Cheng High School (Main).

Grateful for all your advice and comments, thanks!
