    • RE: Are Singapore students too stressed out?

One thing I realised, the level of stress the child has is proportional to the level of stress the parents are having.

Parents who observed their child seems stressed up, observe yourself. Or allow your spouse to observe you, to criticise you (I am serious), don’t be quick to jump, but listen. Your spouse is the best person to do "editing" for you because you guys are closest.

If you and your spouse are not close, work on getting close and united with your spouse and make that your higher priority. And observe your child’s stress level and your own stress level simultaneously.

Results are important. But your child’s development as a person is of the top-most importance. Not as a "A-star-churner".

If you want sustainable A-star-churner, work on developing your child as a person, and make your want a by-product of your child’s development.

    • RE: Secondary math group tuition in clementi

My DS did well for PSLE (well enuff for me), then Sec 1 I took a break (rest for my wallet too…). To my horror, from 1st class in his level, he dropped to the last class!

I signed up for math tuition by Mr Edwin at KRTC Clementi because I am taking multiple subjects there, so got more discounts. Hopefully by SA1 he can gain back his glory. Any parents facing same issues? Any support group here? After seeing his results I hope he is as gan chiong as me.

Update you guys again in June. Or not. Maybe by then go holiday liao…

Anything about Secondary math tuition in Clementi please share k.

    • RE: Comparing English Enrichment Programmes

      What a disaster.

My beloved duos have been with Ms Evelyn at KRTC Clementi for since 2013. Last year after my DS did well for PSLE and \"rested\" for a year from tuition for the both of them(kinda rest a year for my wallet too), their results shocked me. Went back to Ms Eveline for help for 2017. Hopefully they will improve by mid year. :xedfingers: :nailbite:

Maybe tuition to some can be an added stress, but I guess times have changed. Their childhood are all around tablets and tuitions. Don't you agree?

I heard that Mr Rama is good. My children still in primary school so only hearsay. Their fees are quite expensive. But then again, everything in SG expensive. Only salary never grow. :slapshead:

You have to hurry enrol because they having early bird discounts if join during holidays. That is all I know, check with them directly.

Ya. I agree. Their fees can be really expensive :nailbite:

But join early for more discounts. They give up to 35% discount if you take up more courses.

U have to join early because once their tutors promote, their fees will increase!! Luckily I join before the teacher promote, so my fees not affected.

      All the best! :xedfingers:

Basically, being a teacher earned less respect than long time ago, compared to our generation & our parents' generation..

in the past, any punishment meted out to kids,
Parents instinctively will totally believe that their kids must have done something wrong to receive the punishement from teachers..& most likely get more spanking or scolding from parents..
NOW? any punishement meted out...OH! MY!!
Teacher must be at fault..NO MATTER what my child has done 'wrong'..
IT IS WRONG for the teacher to punish my child..
NO matter how light is the punishement..
even non-physical punishement like write out sentences,
also too much to the parents!
& many parents do not find out details of what their children has done..
Fingers point back at teachers 1st!!
What kind of attitude you are portraying to your kids?
      Don't care what is wrong..
Point back fingers at anyone, can liao..
SO thus youngters nowadays who started working, seriously has very very irresponsible attitudes.. not willing to learn..calculative what is their job scope etc etc...
Hubby saw so many such cases & just shake his head..
      sigh!!

Just mere scolding can get teachers into trouble nowadays. :whut:

      I agree.

      How to find good teacher?

Hope this child learns how to forgive. I hope the parents keep in mind that their child is watching how they react to this situation and in turn, will learn from them.

But if it happens to my child, I would be heartbroken too.

My son was also taught by Ms. Eveline.
I was told that she will be at KRTC Clementi Cityvibe Mall, level 2 which is a new outlet opening in January.
Therefore, I think we can only do the registration in January when the outlet is ready. 😃

Anyone here knows any other better tutors in KRTC?

Thanks dardarr! I received a flyer at my door a few weeks back. I will call them and ask. Now, I'll let them have a break in this holiday since they improved. :rahrah:

We'll start again in January. Hope this improvement can sustain, then by the time of PSLE in 2015, my son can go to a good secondary school! keeping my fingers crossed! :xedfingers:

What is your son's name? Will you be joining her class in clementi as well?

No problem... and I will still get my son to join her class. You know... it is hard to get a teacher who he will like... (-_-\")...

Do you know any other better tutors at KRTC???[/quote]
      Hi Dardarr.

I heard from Mr Wilson that Mdm Ching lee ling may be coming to Clementi to teach Primary Mathermaticks!! :rahrah: :rahrah:

Now he is attending maths class in mindstretcher in clementi. Doing quite well.

He loves Miss Eveline's class now I can put him in for maths on the same day! Then no need to run so many places and I hope they place the emphasis on the kids as well as on the materials instead of just emphasise on the materials only.

Anyway, I heard there is good deal for the first few sign ups and Mdm Ching I heard from people is quite good. But I havent try so i cannot say. I hope my son likes her too then I no need to headache. :xedfingers:

By the way, are you in Miss Eveline's class? Like so secretive like that.

      Haha. I also very secretive.

Reply here k you not active for long time. We can make friends and have the referral gift!! :imcool:
