I got my books today and here is my history below. Especially I hope this can prove valuable to everyone living in northern europe (I live in sweden and the books are sent there).


I made my order (订单）on the 12th march.

Payment was made on the 17th and my confirmation letter that dangdang received the money was gotten moment later. I payed using my chinese ICBC card as the swedish Nordea Visa card did not seem to work.

My books were sent of of dangdang on 20th march. There was a three day delay between the successful payment and the package sent out which is, I believe unusual. I think most cases the books are sent out the same day as the payment comes in.

On the 31st of March my books left the chinese customs at beijing international airport. However im not sure if my books were sent by plane or ship.

My books arrived in Sweden on the 20th May. Three days (23rd May) later it came to the local post office in my city (the three day delay was probably due to two of the days were weekends and the post here is closed on weekends). I got a letter the same day which said I can pick up the package at the local post office.

I picked up my package today (27th May). The delay between the package arriving and me picking it up was because I had some legitimation issues because I lost my legitimation and my passport was sent to a foreign embassy for a visa.

The condition the books were in: Only one word- PERFECT. My order consists of 42 books costed +600RMB. Even if the package came in a big dirty sack the condition of all the books were great. Nothing bent or wet or dirty front covers. The books were all wiped in water proof plastic covers and the box (which was very torn) had soft stuff wiped on the inside

Ok, ok, ok. laughingcat- Sorry if I offended you in any way. But if you read my message you might notice I wrote clearly I DIDNT think that you were lying. I am very thankful for you trying to help me. I want to think that your information is correct. But I got that auto message on the 15th of may and until today, the 19th (soon 20th), there is no update whatsoever on intmail or the local post office. Once again Thank you for the information. I know it must have taken a lot of effort take and upload that picture on the comment above mine.

@laughingcat- I really hope you are right because I got that email from Dangdang the 15th of May. However there is no update on the intmail website for my books since the 31st of March. I dont mean I think your lying but I just wonder where did you get the information about that the auto reply is a indication of mine package changing hands?

Yeah, I wonder the same as SAHM_TAN about that auto reply from Dangdang. laughingcat, What is that auto reply? Is it the thing on the dangdang website when they change the status of the package from "in delivery" to "delivered"? because I got that change in status today, but no email from dangdang about the change. (My package is now 5 days late)

It seems that it very common for orders to be delayed. My order was sent out of the outward office of exchange on March 31st 2011. This sunday its going to be 8 weeks since my order was sent of of dangdang (it was sent out 20th march). Before I saw someone said something about they change the RR number on the way. I was hoping that was the case because there are no updates since the 31st on that tracking website intmail.

OH, never mind… for some reason it came up, im sure it wasnt there from the beginning… My order was shipped out the 31st of march any idea how long the shipping usually takes? (to sweden)



and also my package was not sent to Guangzhou but rather beijing International airport, i think thats because its too far to ship to Sweden.

Do you get the package number by writing to dangdang support? I wrote twice, both times the reply I got was that they will send it to me within one working day but I never got any more letters with the tracking number...

Wait, are the quality of the books bad? I thought all the books were brand new??

wait, aren’t you supposed to write a letter to dangdang support to ask for the package ID, does that order number work?
