do we change into thermal wear only when we reach korea?

We packed all the thermal wear and winter clothes in a separate bag and brought to plane. Upon arrival, we changed in the toilet before collecting our luggage.

• RE: Travel : Vietnam - Hanoi & the North

Amethyst:
My family is planning to visit Hanoi in mid December. Have not finalised our itinerary. Would like to check with experienced parents here if Sapa is worth visiting in December. Read that the rice fields would have turned brown and treks are muddy by then, so no more nice scenery? Also are there any short and easy trails for trekking, cos I doubt my legs can take the long and rough treks.

Another question, has anyone tried to travel between HCMC n Hanoi via Vietjet, the budget carrier? How's the experience?
Thks.
Hi,
I went in early december 2 years ago. Yes the rice fields have nothing to see. If i remember correctly it was not brown but empty. I went to the cat cat village, abit muddy and was drizzling and yes our shoes were muddy. Only trekking at the village will get muddy. Other places not muddy. But scenery at the Cat Cat village are nice. Your kids will experience the tribe cultural.

Other sceneries are nice such as Sapa lake, Ha Rong Hill.

FYI, i didn't book any tour, I trek to Cat Cat village and wnet Sapa Lake and Ha Rong Hill and etc on myself. I went with 2 young kids P1 and P6 that time.

Just to share, at first my kids doesn't want to go Hanoi cos there's no theme park but after they went, they enjoy so much and told me they missed Hanoi. They like the Halong Bay Cruise and the overnite train to Sapa and the weather at Sapa. FYI, if you are lucky you may experience snow in Sapa. My kids enjoy seeing \"smoke\" from their mouth when they talk in Sapa. Very cold. Must wear winter jacket and gloves.

Well, I've booked air tickets and hotels for Vietnam in Dec. Another question: do we need much Vietnamese dong, or are US$ commonly accepted? What about credit cards, and is it safe to use them (because of scams, cheating etc)?

During my trip 2 years ago, I didn't use credit cards. I use Dong mostly. USD were used mainly for the pre-booked items such as transfer, tour and hotel.

Even you pay in USD, they will convert the change into dong and gave you. They won't give the change in USD.

you mean book and pay while in spore?
you can go to Beijing train station to buy. unless it is festive season, the seats shld be available.

Hi,

Is December considered peak period?

Thinking of going either Beijing to Shanghai or Beijing to Harbin by train.

Do you know roughly how much is the price if book at the train station?

I saw alot of china websites selling the tickets. Wonder how much difference are the rates.

Dear all,

I am planning to go GC during Sept with my 3yo + 5yo. My 3yo birthday is 2Sep, so effectively she would be a days/ weeks just after 3yo (depends on my exact holiday booking). I don't know if the theme parks are very particular with the age? Reason I ask is because admission fees is waived for less than 3yo. Anyone have sneak into the theme parks without a paying the admission fees for such borderline cases?

Singaporean mentality haha. Trying to save some money here. :pp

Which are the more suitable themeparks for 3yo and 5yo? I was thinking Movie World is not to be missed... cant decide on which others..
Btw, do the themeparks offer \"Fast Pass\" kindaf privileges?

Thanks in advance!
I think you can try cos Ang Mo is basically taller than Asian?

I have tried when I was in Hong Kong. I was asked what was my son's age at Disneyland admission, I told the staff that his age was 2 years + and he didn't ask further and let us in and commented that wow! Very tall for 2 years. 😄 😄

At Ocean Park Hong Kong, my son was in the stroller, the staff never ask during admission.

Perhaps you can consider Movie World and Sea world. Sea World - Dora Explorer, Spongebob and penguins and severl kiddo rides.

• RE: Hotel to recommand near HK disneyland for family of 5?

I stayed at L’Hotel Nina near Tsuen Wan MTR station. Their rooms are very big, toilet very big and grand too. They have 2 queen size beds in the room.

We were given 70th floor when we asked for high floor. That time I booked is SGD90 per nite. Now i think the rate has increased.
Anybody noticed a tv ad on Malacca in Ch U?

Is there a cup noodle factory in Malacca?

Last December I heard from a Malaysian friend that there will be one in Malacca... So it is open already?

It is a mamee factory, similar to the cup noodle factory in yokohama or osaka in japan.
You can design the cup, put the noodles, select the ingredients etc, then seal up everything
Anybody been to this place in Malacca?
Yes! I have been there last Friday. Staff told me that the noodles making activity is only available on Saturday and Sunday.

It is located at Jonker Street. Very easy to spot. Along the same sketch of road with Jonker 88 Chendol.
