RE: Science Guide Books
OpenSchoolbag:
Will look out for your recommended booklets in my next trip to Popular. Thanks for the details given.
There is one that is recommended by parents and tutors. By Science Explorer by Ace Publications. They are in booklets, not book forms.
Review:
The booklet is light and easy to bring around as the Science Explorer series is divided into booklets of different themes. The series addresses common misconceptions that students have under “Misconceptions vs Facts” section and includes concept maps to give students a structured summary of key learning points. Each booklet can serve as a useful revision tool. As the difficulty level of the questions, MCQs and open-ended, are higher, they encourage higher order thinking as a good number of questions stretch beyond the basic science concepts learnt. This series is recommended for students to stretch themselves to think critically and as a revision tool with maps and summaries provided.
Hope this is useful! -

RE: Which educational magazines did you subscribe for your child
My DD also loves to read Young scientist and Science Adventure. Science Adventure mag contains nicely illustrated graphics which captures her attention so it cultivates her interest in science. A good early exposure to science.

Hi,
My son is in DHS sec1. I would want to know the impact of failing HCL in sec1 or in sec2. I am worry for him because he is not strong in CL, but he likes DHS much. Thank you in advance.
if your son fails hcl in sec 1 and 2, he will have to take normal chinese from sec 3-4 and take o level chinese. when he proceeds on to jc, he will have to continue taking chinese too while the hcl ppl dunnid to  -
RE: Comparing Chinese Enrichment (Primary/Preschool)
MintyMin:
So Tsien Hsia prepares them well for P1, that's what I am looking for.TH enrichment are all based on HCL, whereas for Berries it is not.. that is as far as i noe.. both my ds (P2) and dd1 (K2) are in TH CCK..
Ds has difficulty as I juz started him on chinese enrichment end last yr (due to waitlist at both Berries n TH) and his chinese wasn't tat gd.. he can take a week to learn the tingxie given by TH and still can't really remember it.. so was wondering if i shld haf enrolled him in Berries instead..
As for DD1, she joined early last yr, she enjoyed every session of TH, and can tell from the worksheets that TH really prepare them well for P1.. there's hypy, bu shou, bi hua.. -
