RE: Punggol Green Primary
Hello!
I am intending to enrol my child to PGPS next year and really hope to get a place.
Anyone here places their child in the student care service? Would like to find out the quality of it, and how are P1 kids adjusting to student care. Any instances of bullying, etc? Are the children being properly looked after, or mostly left to their own devices? What about nap times? Do kids in student care generally perform alright?
Thank you! -
RE: Agape Little Uni
Hi I wish to share my personal experience with Agape Little Uni @ One North.
Actually I like the centre a lot when my baby was with the infant care when he was 3 months old until 8 months old. Being my first child and first enrolment into CC, i was happy with the environment, the fact that 2 teachers in infant class were nurses who can administer medication, etc. The principal Mrs Mohan seemed really nice and friendly. My baby was happy there and I developed good relationships with the teachers.
However certain things in the centre didn’t seem right to me.
1) the admin staff turnover was horrifying. every time i spoke to someone it’s different, and they seem younger and younger!!
2) the updates were SO SLOW. I received no feedback regarding my child (perhaps nothing much in infant to update?) and it took about 3-4 months after i withdraw my baby to get a CD of photos (at least they took photos)
3) the online portal was useless. no updates of photos, only articles that weren’t really helpful and you have the feeling they’re just doing for the sake of appearances.
4) there were 15 babies in infantcare. 15!!! it’s a crazy number. no wonder my baby got sick SO OFTEN there - and mind you, it’s not your typical runny nose and cough. He caught bronchiolitis 3 days of enrolment and was admitted into KKH. he caught so many viruses resulting in several high fevers. he also got false measles. i took my baby out cos i was crying almost everyday to see him so sick. it’s a level of sickness i cannot accept even though childcare centres are ‘usually’ germy places.
5) speaking of infantcare and 15 babies - staff strength is not enough. in the end they split up the classes, and accepted MORE babies (making money more important???). and guess what, not all are TEACHERS. some are NANNIES. you have something like one teacher and one nanny to some babies.
6) their centre policies are very strict and may be somewhat unreasonable. my baby had a very high fever there, but the teachers are not allowed to feed paracetamol and can only sponge. my husband was unavailable and i was so worried i rushed down from other side of the island to feed him para. thank GOD i had a bottle in his bag!!! he was 40deg by then. and they insisted on bundling him up cos aircon is ‘cold’. i was SO MAD. what if he had febrile seizure?!
after a one-year break, my baby is now in another childcare with much less children and dedicated staff, and he is clearly happy and i have my mind at ease.
i don’t think curriculum is a good basis for childcare selection. children that young should be taught different life skills instead of numbers and letters. -

Hi all,
am considering the above 2 infant care centers for my son, who will turn 4-5 months by the time of enrollment.
Want to check reviews of these 2 centers, thanks!
