I remembered a ted talk about stress which was really cool. May be good to share another perspective on whether stress is good or bad or neither?

IMHO, parents cannot help DC if we do not learn and improve too. We should go out and learn something new too!

      Enjoy!

Uhrmm... what's the median if the population size is even in number, like 1, 2, 2, 6, 6, 6? PAP keeps talking about the median of the top 100 earners...[/quote]

      According to Google search :

Arrange your numbers from lowest to highest and then eliminate them from the left and right, one-by-one. Whichever number remains in the end is the median! Special note: If TWO numbers remain (which happens about half the time), you're supposed to add them together and divide by two.

      Answer: 4? :nunchuk:

I couldn’t find the median and “middle” in MOE website  But why would MOE used the word “middle”? It is so un-statistic. Making us confused.

      Sorry for the confusion.

Median is published by MOE SIS Full Site.

Middle in my chart is the calculated as TOP score + COP then Divided by 2.

My stats also give back to teacher Liao...as per image

Does the median calculation include affiliated students’ t-score?

      Welcome everyone!

Nope, did not compile or include affiliated scores.

      Dear parents,

Just to let you know that MOE now has included the \"median scores\" in addition to the low and high scores needed for a secondary school admission. Even in the \"Choosing your Secondary Schools\" booklet that every P6 student has, only the low and high scores are shown. This new median score might be useful in choosing your sec school.

      Check this out at https://sis.moe.gov.sg/

Below is an example from Raffles Institution.

      PSLE Aggregate Score
Aggregate range of 2017 Primary 6 students posted to 2018 Secondary 1

      Non-Affiliation\tAffiliation
      Lower\tUpper\t*Median\tLower\tUpper\t*Median
      Express\t257\t 279\t263\t None-posted

      * The Median PSLE Aggregate score is the middle score of a range of PSLE Aggregate score of a group of students; i.e. half the students have PSLE Aggregate score greater than the median, and the other half of the students have PSLE Aggregate score that are less than the median. Note: PSLE aggregates of DSA pupils are excluded from computation of median.

Thanks for all the replies. Not sure abt the ranking portion. A bit blur this morning.

After going thru point by point, my girl is interested to try for NJC. She loves the idea of boarding and I heard positive reviews abt NJC from teacher friends.

I studied in DHS, and would have love for her to pick DHS. But distance and her wariness of anything too Chinese makes it impossible.

At least 1 choice is firm, tho very uncertain as she is below previous COP. Will try for MGS and SCGS too.
      :thankyou:
