Hi,
My dd and ds didn’t attend onsponge before so I can’t reallu compare. However, my thoughts is , if the programme works maybe should continue with it.
I know the MP Teachers well as I’ve been with them since preschool. The upper primary Teachers are usually more strict than the lower primary except for Jason. If your Son is familiar and comfortable with their methodologies it’s better to stick with it. Maybe change another teacher ?

RE: JEI/PSLE Math - Discussion
To be fair, PSLEMath do have many good teachers. Hopefully like kim said, the Mgmt will identify the male tutor and do something about him. Maybe not sack him but counsel him.
I agree fully with Kim. PSLEMath worksheet is good, in my opinion, even better than on sponge.
I make it a point to keep every worksheets my DD and DS had. I understand sometime earlier in this forum tread, parents were seeking to buy from other parents PSLEMATH old worksheets. I’m with the centre since my children were in preschool, I remembered a few years back, Ai Tong School had engaged them for their programme. -

May I know if The Writer Place strategy is encourage creativity or drill the children to memorise sentence structures and connectors?Mama123:
Sembgal, mind to share which writing school is yr child attending? I'm looking for 1 to kick start my P2.
Hi, you can try The Writer's Place. My dd has improved her composition skill and is not attending TWP anymore as TWP is only focusing on Pure Writing. What kind of improvement have I seen? In terms of sentence structure, she has improved. She used to get 6/12 but has improved to 16/20 after she left TWP after being a student there for a year. 30% improvement in terms of writing skill. -

My personal opinion, if goal is improving MOE style problem solving skills, I would think both mpm and enopi is not as good as a local based centre like e.g. Mind stretcher, PSLEMath, TLL, Just Education, Little Professor etc etc would be more in tune. The critical thinking component part -
Between mpm (Orig fr Taiwan ) & enopi (orig fr korea ) -
which one is more in tune with the problem sums, in our singapore moe syllabus (p2 to p6 ) ?
(Appreciate sharing. Thank you very much ) -

Also they have a strict policy of maximum 6 students per class.

The culture in JEIMath for preschool is pretty relax whereas the culture for PSLEMath for primary school is more intensive
Regarding the differences between the programme, its best you check with them directly. Jason is the programme manager you can talk to.
One thing for certain, its different from enopi.ZuEn:
I am looking for Maths enrichment class for DD, who is in K1 this year and am considering between MPM and JEI/ PSLE Maths.
Read through the thread but still a little confused.
Briefly, am I right to say that JEI is more on Maths foundation, PSLE Maths more on heuristic problem solving and MPM more on creative thinking?
I visited Enopi @ JE 2 weeks back and was totally unimpressed. The center was very quiet and the kids are expected to totally behave, cannot even talk too loud. I supposed the kids need to concentrate to learn but these are pre-schoolers and learning should be fun for their age.
After the assessment and I asked my DD if she would like to take up the enrichment class and she told me no, bcos the class is too boring.
Any idea if JEI would have this issue as well? -
RE: JEI/PSLE Math - Discussion
I feel their P1 programme is pretty good because it actually consist of two programmes. One JEIMath and the other one is PSLEMath.
So the kid will do first hour JEIMath and the 2nd hour PSLEMath.sweetbaby:
Hi
Hows the P1 program? -
RE: JEI/PSLE Math - Discussion
Hi Olen,
I feel their P1 programme is well balanced. The JEIMath as was explained to me is intended to strengthen the kids math operations whereas the PSLEMath is focus on problem solving skills. It is the only level the centre provides two programmes for the price of one :). All the other levels the kids only do either JEIMath or PSLEMath.
