      Hi,

Need some advice, been balloted out from nyps phase 2B and will be trying for phase 2C since we’ve been staying <1km for many years and there is only nyps left for my boy within 1km. If we get balloted out again in phase 2C what are the chances of us to appeal? And the chances of getting to BTPS at phase 2cs >2km? Thanks!

You should be mentally prepared that the odds of a successful appeal is unlikely to be high. There were 40+ applicants for 20 places in Phase 2B? Therefore, you can imagine that there are 20+ parents in the same position as you, all going for Phase 2C, where they could be joined by another 40 parents. I would imagine that all who failed at the ballot would want to appeal. The school can't possibly have 20 vacancies available.

Chance of getting into BTPS is generally quite good.

Thanks. Total of 31 vying for 21 seats. We are the unlucky 30% ones. So the only solution if get balloted out in 2C will be putting myself in waiting list and try for BTPS in 2cs?

Yes I’m within 1km. Nyps is less than 300m from my place. What I mean is other than rgps within my 1km-2km radius (which my Son can’t possibly enter). There is no other schools is within my 2km. So what are the chances of me getting a school for 2Cs nearby if I failed to get in nyps?

      qms:

You may have a higher chance at RGPS in P2C. For P2CS, you may like to consider Bt Timah Primary School.
My radius within 2km only rgps and nyps. And sorry typo. I'm referring to my Son. So nyps the only choice now. But if failed to get in. Still can go bt Timah pri school as back up? Which is more than 2km? :lightrod:

    • RE: All About Measuring Home-School Distance

I’m staying 1km> within nyps and my DD will need to register for Pri 1 in 2019. Both parents are not ex student or alumni member. So now we are trying to apply for the PV to see if we able to get it. If not,we will be in Phase 2C… Understand that it requires ballot from the past history. So now the question is, what if we failed to get into nyps? Is there any backup school within my radius that I can send my Son to in Phase 2Cs?
