Hi....would like to know how many of the parents here intend to make use of the affiliation to go to st margaret secondary school Is St Margaret Sec Sch good? The thread there/discussion seems not so popular.

My girl just graduated and went back to SMSS even though it is quite a distance for us. Thank God for the MRT. I like the school because of its leadership model... The girls are empowered and trained and it's a wonderful thing to see the girls allowed to handle events with poise and confidence. When we went for s1 registration, the new sec ones were expected to register themselves... Parents sat behind to wait... And the ones handling the registration were the prefects... I like that kind of thing. Academically they are a long time value added school... In the education circle, this speaks a lot more than just good results per se... Because it means that the students are doing better than MOE expected them to do (based on their PSLE results). Just my impressions so far...
      .
I plan to send my youn, ger girl there too....

      :

Thank u for sharing your opinion. I was just wondering why there isn't much discussion at the secondary side.

    • RE: PSLE 2013 - school posting results

      NotEducatedMan:

This year T-score has been lowered by too much from the \"high\" raw score.. & eventually 250 & above could be just top 8% instead of the usual 10%..

A few of the top school have dropped their COP.. and even accepting appeal cases with few marks below the COP just to \"fill-up\" the vancanies

This year T-score of 250 ideally should be 255.. & a score of 242 should be 246, etc

      Just my 2 cents
Thank you.....I thought no one is going to answer my question. If 250 & above could be top 8%, how about 242 (which should ideally be 246) is top how many percent?

because of the ‘mess up’ of the COP this year, does this affect the percentage of scores - i mean , for 250 ++ is it still top 10%? How about those who score 240 ++ - how many percent?

    • RE: Dance School

      Hi

My dd is interested to join jazz ballet. She just turned 12 & will be going to sec 1 in a few days. She only had 1 year of ballet when she was 5 years old. But she has been looking up dance youtube videos and picking up tips from her friends who attend ballet. She has been non stop practising at home too.

1)Any input about Dancepointe? I called and she is supposed to go for assessment.
2)Any parents out there who children are in ballet and can cope with secondary school?

      Thank you…
