I managed to call QCD TradeHub and I have the impression that nothing was done but they will call me tomorrow. I wonder what they will do tomorrow if they have not done anything since Mon when I sent it in. :siam:

:gloomy: I asked for repair to fix the dents but they can't. They could only do 1-to-1 exchange and I have to pay $200 while insurance company pay $200 plus. For iPAD 2, it's not worth paying $200 to get another iPAD 2 which I believe it's a refurbished set. I believe I paid $100 plus for the insurance. So, total cost is $300plus. Not worth it at all. This is a lesson for me. Do the maths!

I know I am too Kiasu but I have a question.

My DD is keen in Arts, visual arts, not performing arts. I plan to put her in schools that offer AEP. I am considering putting her to RVHS where her brother is in now but RVHS doesn't have AEP. Next option will be either Bukit Panjang High(BPH) or NYGH. However, what if she is selected for BPH or NYGH but rejected for the AEP, what should I do? If this is the case, I would prefer my DD to be in RVHS instead. Can student take AEP while studying in RVHS which doesn't offer AEP? Can AEP be an 'out-of-school' elective?

Why not try NJC which has a very established AEP programme, and she can start at sec 1 and potentially go up to A levels. For Art.

Anyone experienced sending in iPad to QCD Tradehub 21 for repair? My son bought an iPad and he accidentally dropped it but the system is still working except that it has dents at the edge. I sent in to QCD in Tradehub and I was told they don't repair but will replaced. However, it's not covered under AppleCare. I knew that it was covered by the insurance but QCD wasn't aware of what to do with such case. I have sent in for 5 days now and I have not a clue what to expect from QCD or the insurance company (Rizk Solutions). There seemed to have a big gap between QCD and the Insurance company. Calling QCD was a nightmare too. I was transferred to a voicemail that was full all the time

Anyone has any experience dealing with such case?

Btw, it is better to buy iPad from Harvey Norman and get their extended warranty?

I have decided to select school that is near to my place although it doesn’t have AEP. However, if she somehow need to go further, then I would hope to select NYG with AEP for her. Anyway, AEP should be the secondary consideration now.

I witnessed an incident in RV that reminded me of an article saying something about two donkeys trying to cross a same bridge but both were not giving way to the other. Same thing happened last night near the zebra crossing areas where a few cars were parked on both side near the crossing area. This act actually narrowed the width from 2 lanes to one that could narrowly allow 2 cars to pass. One different about this incident was that the silver car was trying hard to give way to allow the other SUV to pass but it seemed that the SUV had no intention to give way at all. It simply stayed put and not moving an inch. Anyway, to cut the story short. As drivers, you need to be sensitive to your actions:

1. Don't park near the zebra crossing as this will block the pedestrian's view of oncoming cars towards the zebra crossing and this is risky.

2. There is no need to challenge each other to see who wins the 'stand-off'. This is childish. Just by giving in a bit and both cars could be on their way. If not, both drivers will stand to lose out. As parents or teachers, we need to show good example to our kids and students. We don't want to build a society that is unfriendly and selfish .

Let's remember the RV's saying: 立德立功,化愚化顽

Could the security guards step in to assist in such \"confrontations\" ? This is an issue of having too much freedom as cars simply drive in and out of the school.

I think allowing cars to come in is essential based on the road conditions around the school to avoid jams on the main road. I don't think there are enough guards to help out on this too. If drivers are more considerate, the traffic flow will be very smooth within RV.
