Juz to share the status of Poi Ching in Tampines.
Called to school and asked, the current applicant number is 134 for Singapore Citizen within 1KM. The available vacancy only 115. So mostly need balloting.

Wah, so fast all. My first choice is St Hilda’s, but looks like chances is Low, so most probably I will try Poi Ching.

I think 134 was before afternoon session started at 2:30pm...then how about now...more applications on the way :scared: . Have you check with St. Hilda's? Do you have the number?

MOE website have updated... 66 seats available during 2C for SHPS...115 seats for Poi Ching..

no cold winds intended.

although SHPS TUR until 2B is lowest in 13 years, applicants numbers:
2018 102
2017 80
2016 109
2015 105
2014 106

SHPS folks has an average risk threshold of 2+ times, you need to assess your risk threshold.

POi Ching has the lowest TUR in 13 years.. May have a slight chance of 1-2km ballot (although the odds should be quite poor)

You are correct! Agree with you, for SHPS I think it's about 2.8 times oversubscribed for past 10 years...very risky.

For Poi Ching, if we are stay <1KM, is it slightly safer without balloting this year?

zero chance

I am thinking I should have a try for St. Hilda's if confirmed not less than 75 for 2C. And monitoring Poi Ching...Seems Poi Ching have 118 seats.

It's hard to tell whether 75 openings in SHPS will be a magnet for parents who are currently considering Poi Ching... or even those who had secured places in other schools to jump ship.

Keep monitoring but my suggestion for those > 1km not to keep their hopes up too high.
You are right. There must be more people like me when see there are more seats in SHPS in 2C. Need monitoring closely.

https://balloting.xyz has updated an *estimated* vacancy number for Phase 2C (can be different from the actual number by +1 in theory, actually number will be reflected on Friday Morning). Hope it can help some anxious parents.

Literally my personal P1 registration journey should just finish today. The website will run on its own with automatic updates until the end of Phase 2CS. I wish all parents good luck.
:thankyou:

I will get my bicycle ready!! :imcool:

better

remember 2 NRIC to withdraw is not a 5 second matter,
its a 5 min matter.
admin staff need to manually log in to the system
key in your kids details
choose withdraw
confirm
print out physical confirmation and let you sign

no Wifi
printer no paper
anything can happen and the 2NRIC get stuck in sch A.

please plan carefully.

worse is computer or system hang and require another 5 min to restart.
:scared: hope this not happening during registration dates!!

Dear parents, May I know what is the procedure if you want to withdraw the enrollment from one Sch and enrol in another Sch in the same phase, please.TIA.

pls get a driver on the final day - learnt my lesson the hard way
park roadside, small road, illegal parking
then run to sch A
then run back to car
then rush back to sch B

no joke - done that before. (should have gotten someone to drive, drop me at sch gate, pick me up later)

I will get my bicycle ready!! :imcool:

TEMASEK PRIMARY SCHOOL
METHODIST GIRLS' SCHOOL (PRIMARY)
TAO NAN SCHOOL
RULANG PRIMARY SCHOOL
CHIJ PRIMARY (TOA PAYOH)
ANGLO-CHINESE SCHOOL (PRIMARY)
PEI HWA PRESBYTERIAN PRIMARY SCHOOL
CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL
ST. ANDREW'S JUNIOR SCHOOL
CHIJ ST. NICHOLAS GIRLS' SCHOOL
ROSYTH SCHOOL

The above have worse off vacancy to start off in 2B than in last year (dragon year) and have deficit as compared to 2018 applicants - should be a primary fight zone.
Temasek lost 11 spots and look set to be back for balloting for the first time since 2013
MGS lost 10 spots and looks to be balloting within 1km
TNS looks tougher although traditionally has been a <1km fight zone (lost 9 spots)
RPS, CHIJ TPY, ACSP lost 6, 5, 4 respectively.

Other interesting mover is St Hilda which saw a significant increase in vacancies and alot of eligible folks will be eyeing on it. Kong Hwa also saw an increase in vacancies.
Eyeing on St. Hilda now.. But the ration for 2C should be still around 2. So better keep Poi Ching as our 1st choice..

After Day 1 for P2A2, there are five schools who are going for ballot and probably four more to join them after Day 2.

Five schools going for P2A2 balloting:
1. Catholic
2. Nan Hua
3. Nanyang
4. Pei Hua Presb
5. Rosyth

Potentially four more:
1. Punggol Green
2. CHIJ St. Nicholas
3. Temasek
4. Red Swastika

Saw that Junyuan in Tampines is left with 11 after yesterday numbers. I'm guessing parents are registering there and monitoring St. Hilda's. Expect some musical chairs for places in the Tampines area.

Look at both Junyuan and St. Hilda's number, become more interesting for us under 2C. Should I still go to Poi Ching as 1st choice, then keep eyes on St. Hlida's? both within 1KM.. :scratchhead:
