You're most welcome soursop. Please bear in mind though that we all have different standards and levels of expectations and our children varies in personalities and attitude. What I find good may be sadly lacking in your eyes so here's hoping that things work out well for you and your child in Innova :xedfingers: - cheers šŸ˜„

    • RE: Innova Primary

My son enrolled in P1, now in P3. The school is quite active. They're always offering enrichment programmes (usually at a special rate)that the children can join. There's HBL (home based learning) at times where the kids do their lessons online from home - during certain times. They have online learning portals that the kids can utilise at a small fee. Most CCA runs twice a week, currently every Tue and Thu. They have swimming CCA done in Singapore Sports School on Thu. But we have to pay $50 a month for this CCA. Shuttle service is provided for the kids from Innova to SSS and back again. Only two uniformed CCA which I don't fancy. Brownies and Red Cross. To look at the available CCA : http://www.innovapri.moe.edu.sg/depts_CCA.html

Teachers are alright - a few of my son's teachers were exceptional. I found them really dedicated to the children and didn't stereotype misbehaviour as the child is bad. I read somewhere in this thread about teachers being young and inexperienced. IMHO, as a person who was once a kid and now a parent, I find that new teachers doesn't mean they are not as capable as the older/experienced teachers. It all boils down to the level of passion and commitment of an individual teacher.

The young teachers I've met so far in this school so far, I liked. And yes.. I have also met one senior teacher here who reminded me of a secondary school teacher of mine who was was quick to jump at conclusions. There is a balance of young and old I'd say. They are still shuffling teachers around, new teachers coming in and some others left. I am keen to see the PSLE results of the pioneer kids of P1 (year 2008) of Innova because they are the true product of Innova teachers and a testimony of school system šŸ™‚

Overall, I like this school, the teachers and staff. The school itself has nice facilities and clean environment. My DD will go to this school as well because I like the fact that that they don't OVERLOAD the kids with homework everyday. DS get homework, all within MY expectations. I don't equate a lot of homework equals better/smarter kids. The main thing is the kid understands the concept of lessons learned and is given ample practice for revision for that day's lesson at home. Subsequently, I, as the parent need to ensure that throughout the term my son does his own revision.

They're opening one in Block 552, Dr. 44..

Has anyone checked out their program in other places before? Are they the same as PCF? If not, please enlighten me on the difference.

      Thanks! šŸ˜„
