      Hi, please help

The figure below is made up of a semicircle, a square and 3 quadrants. The side of the square is 20cm.
For each of the following, use the calculator value of pie to find

      a) the area of the shaded part, correct to 2 decimal places, (answer given 1481.96 )

      b) the perimeter of the shaded part, correct to 2 decimal places (answer given is 188.50 cm)

      TIA

      Hi acforfamily

Move the shade quadrant down to the unshaded quadrant.

      Answer will be

      A semi-circle (radius 20 cm) +

      A big quadrant (radius 40 cm) -

      A square (side 20 cm)

      hi, please help. TIA

A tank measuring 10 cm by 10 cm by 30 cm had 2 identical cuboids in it. Water was flowing into the tank for 5 minutes at a rate of 240 cm3 per minute. Each cuboid had a dimension of 5cm by 5 cm by 10cm.
      http://i58.tinypic.com/2iapjly.png\">

To find the height of water in the tank,
      Volume of water / base

Base = base of tank less base of cube
      = 10*10 less 5*5
      = 75

      Volume of water in 5 minutes = 240*5= 1200
      Height = 1200 / 75 = 16

      Is that the answer?

      Thank you

      Hi please help. TIA

Billy needs to pack as many 4cm wooden cubes as possible into a box measuring 31 cm by 15cm by 22 cm as shown below.

      http://i59.tinypic.com/sykn09.png\">

      Number of boxes:

Step 1. Find number of cubes cut out along the length, breadth & height of box
      31 ÷ 4 = 7r3
      15 ÷ 4 = 3r3
      22 ÷ 4 = 5r2

Answer. Find total number of cubes cut out
      7 × 3 × 5 = 105 wooden cubes

      Remaining volume:

Step 1. Find volume of wooden box
      31 × 15 × 22 = 10230 cubic centimetres

Step 2. Find total volume of wooden cubes cut out
      4 × 4 × 4 = 62 cubic centimetres
      62 × 105 = 6720 cubic centimetres

Answer. Find remaining volume of box
      10230 - 6720 = 3510 cubic centimetres

      Thank you
