Dunman High’s results are very outstanding considering the fact that this is only the 2nd batch of graduates.

And Dr Foo rocks. everything is going on fine. It’s just that he has a few flaws in his english pronunciation and grammar. And his chinese is excellent. no one is perfect and i think he is an excellent principal and friend.
and also, do not criticize or laugh at others unless YOU ARE BETTER. (no offence)

it's good to transfer right at the start if the school is not for you.
but i don't think 250+2 stands a high chance. they will accept if have vacancies ba.

RE: Dunman High School (Junior High)
we walk to east coast park a lot haha. for many activities. i think the walk to east coast park from school takes about 15 minutes and more if you walk further down.
i got sunburn too!! i was on an amazing race and for those travelling on the ecp expressway. we walked all the way to victoria jc and then back to school for the whole race. it was really tiring. and the weather was really hot yesterday.
and i am so caught up in my activities, i have yet to go find my juniors. i promise i would. haha.
actually if you enter the school excited and glad you got in everything would turn out better compared to those that were forced to come to a school that they do not want to come to.
there were lotsa surprises when i came into dunman high. like the ceremony, pledge taking and stuff.
i still miss mr sng. i think he presents himself better. but i'm more than willing to give dr foo a chance. he seems really nice.
he has yet to gain our respect really. unlike mr sng, we love him.
hope that my juniors are enjoying themselves. oh. and we have level camp every year. as a tradition in dunman high.
in year one they are going for a cultural camp where they will try devil's curry from the eurasians and learn how to make roti prata etc. ours was cancelled this year due to h1n1.
in year 2, my year, we have an adventure camp where we will try obstacle courses etc.
in year 3, WE'RE GOING TO MALAYSIA.
for various stuff.
in year 4, we'll try more adventurous and challenging stuff like hiking.
the year one orientation is something one would remember for a long time. and our class have been very bonded since the orientation. but it is also when you will see the character of some of your class mates. whether thay like to perform or if they have leadership skills etc. -
RE: Dunman High School (Junior High)
the year 5 and 6 uniform is JC style.

and 158 goes to aljunied and if you take it further down it goes to serangoon and batley (dunno how to spell) people that live in sengkang bishan hougang etc can take the circle line at serangoon.
can also make use of circle line to go to the language centre but there is bus service provided by the school.
i bought 2 sets of PE attire and 2 sets of uniform. and the buttons will become rusty if you don't take them out when you wash the uniform. personally i perspire a lot so my uniform is slightly brownish at the buttons area. lol. .__.
thaird lang books are expensive. i take japanese. and it's really difficult and takes lotsa commitment. everytime i come back from third language i'm like totally tired. i was very tempted to give it up but decided it was a really good opportunity. so i held on. for a year. finally.

RE: Dunman High School (Junior High)
i think i spent less than 100 when i bought the year 1 books.
i'm not sure of literature guide books because i don't have one but you can find them at the school bookshop. Animal farm is a really good book and there're lotsa elements inside that make a very good literature book. like irony etc. we are using to kill a mocking bird in year 2, just read the book, it's really good. haha. and we are also working on merchant of venice in year 2.
perhaps she can read through the book and find out points on how napolean is a bad leader, how he uses the animals and how he gains control of the farm, like he uses the dogs and instill fear in the animals etc.
that will get her ready. mostly guide books give you the character analysis and i don't find it really necessary but it's always good to have one to refer to.
yep, and one day of the orientation is held at east coast park, only one day. for outdoor games etc, we're not allowed to go near the water though.
(there's a sandcastle building competition at east coast park in year 4. hehe)
and uhm the night concerts lasts till about 8 to 9 and we can go home after that. i must have sounded misleading.
and both teachers and seniors will be present. but the whole orientation is organised by our student counsilors.
if you have any more questions feel free to ask me yea? enjoy your holidays! merry christmas.

RE: Dunman High School (Junior High)
hi sorry for the late reply.
i bought all the books. but we hardly use the math textbook. and it isn'tmuch of a help anyway because the math teachers make their own notes for us.
as for science, we hardly use the textbook but the textbook provides a lot of information, so does the history textbook. for chinese, we use the text book and for language arts (combined literature and english ) we need the text from the book animal farm. yepp. geography text book is necessary too.
so. i suggest you leave out the math textbook. and lemme check out some really good science guide books and get back to you later. i'm going to popular tomorrow.
and for the year one orientation, it's mostly about team bonding. it's 5 days long and there are no overnight stays. except for the last night where there'll be a night concert to round up the whole orientation.
the orientation is really great. you get really high. ;D HAHA.
