If they are average in GEP, normally they are able to do well in PSLE?

After we got into the selected school, the school does shared the psle result for the gepper to assure us parent with the range of score tt the gepper are getting. 99% should be able to go to IP schools. Actually bearing in mind tt the kids are selected based on purely english and maths, IMHO, I actually thought the subject that would make the real difference would be due to Chinese, some are really good and some just pass it.

My girl did not take HCL before the transfer. However, she opted to do HCL after she joined RGPS in P4. If not for her insistence of an all girls school environment, I would have put NYPS as 1st choice.

So what I want to say is, even if your child did not take HCL, and your 1st choice is NYPS, then just put it down as the 1st choice school.

All geppers will be given a form to choose whether they want to do HCL/CL from P4 onwards (for non-SAP centers, that is ). Note that it is compulsory to do HCL for SAP school though.

For this HCL/CL option, will MOE use it as a criteria when allocating school? If now choose NO HCL, and get into ACS, is it possible to take HCL at P4 ?
And actually I m not very sure abt the diff of
Taking HCL/CL, just diff points will be given for PSLE?

I dont think is a criteria. DS went to Gep Sap school, some of his classmates only had CL in P3. All will attend HCL classes. Only this year P5, they will assess the result based on grades if they could continue HCL or drop it. Hcl is useful if u want to go sap school. Will give additional 1-3 pts to psle score if u going SAP sec school. (Not sure abt new psle scoring system though)

Kids that are not in for the gep will also be given a letter to say good job and well done. My dd didnt get in, had to let her understand tt getting thro round 1 is already a very good job done.

3 choices. If there is no vacancy, you will be post to a school that has vacancy. You can also appeal after that.
