Ilovegoodkopi, thank you so much for sharing and your kindness , is there any 10 year series for this? 🙂 . Are the questions predictable?

:thankyou:
Previously there weren't, but I thought I saw a practical exam past year papers assessment once.
(Not the SPA one)
There are some typical questions for some topics
Light - Lens, refraction through glass block (there was a year that tested on apparent depth, that was tough)
Electricity - usually potentiometer and use of sliding contact
General Physics - Moment, Pendulum, an object roll down a ramp.

The important thing is to read the question and instruction thoroughly during the exam. I have to emphasize this because even if the question/diagram looks similar. Student should never assume that it is the same exact question.
😄
Anyone can advise how to do well for the SPA?

At this time, you are doing SPA (School Based Practical Assessment) Skill 3?
Regardless, your school teacher would have a few practice sessions/trials before the actual assessment.
1. Learn from the practice sessions/trials - what to take note of, time management during practical etc.
2. For Skill 3, there is a format to follow.

You will be able to do well if you put effort to remembering all of these.
All the best! :rahrah:

:thankyou: it's next month but for combine science. My nephew is weak in it.He cant carry out the practical and not much practice from the school too.
You are welcome.

Combined Science Physics/Chem - that wouldn't be SPA. It would be O Level Practical Exams.
Schools will usually let students try practical exams from past year papers (about 10 practices)

For Physics Practical
(1) instructions are given very specifically. Your nephew must read the steps in detail and carefully. What readings to take, how many readings to take, tabulate values in ## decimal places etc.
(2) He has to remember to rules when drawing graph i.e. Points plotted must cover at least half the grid of the graph paper, mark the points with a small cross (dots are not so visible at times), drawing a best fit line (straight or curve depending on instruction) - an example of line of best fit when all the points cannot be fitted on the line - https://support.content.office.net/en-us/media/9753c96c-6bfe-40eb-9fac-e7c8bcf72bd0.jpg
(3) Marking out using a triangle and state gradient coordinates on the graph if need to calculate gradient
(4) show clearly readings obtained from graph
Importantly take all practices in the school lab seriously because it is a learning experience before the actual exam.
(Hope someone can advice for Chemistry portion)

• RE: Family breaking down due to our girls academic problems

Dear Elias

Different child develops at different pace. (Physically, some children has growth spurts in Primary and some in Secondary). Cognitively as well.

Noticed your expectation of your k2 kid - you feel it is not enough. Possibly comparing with other children you know?

k2 assuming 6 years old would probably pick up by means of hearing.
If he can read, meaning he can recognise the words.

If I give this paragraph to you (as an adult), you can read this?

\"Unisg the icndeblire pweor of the hmuan mnid, aocdcrnig to rseecrah at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it dseno't mttaer in waht oderr the lterets in a wrod are, the olny irpoamtnt tihng is taht the frsit and lsat ltteer be in the rhgit pclae.\"\"

Your kid can recognise just like you can recognise mis-spelled words.
However, to actually spell a word, it requires a higher level of skill (more detail).

If you notice this difference, perhaps relate how a word sound to how a word is spelt. Phonics or in terms of syllable? See if it helps him?

Take care, be patient and positive for him 🙂

Hi can I join in here too? I am worried sick of my K2 kid

He can read all high frequency words and can only spell certain words but not lots. I still feel not enough.

Pls help and advise he is going henry park primary school next year.

Pls revert to me:)

Dear SweetMummy

Chanced upon your post.

(1) Your Personal Minimum Credit Card Bills are your debts?
Are your husband’s debts separate from the credit card bills you mentioned?

At this point, is it possible for your to cancel all your personal credit card. Using credit cards just adds to your debt.

(2) Definitely cancel your brother’s credit card. At such situation, credit card is a no-no. There is a reason why there is a minimum salary requirement for credit cards.

(3) You mentioned shopping? I assumed it is for toiletries, groceries, daily living necessities.

(4) Rent out 1 bedroom for an extra source of income is a good idea. When your father in law comes, he can bunk in with your husband. Have a foldable mattress for him etc. Renting out instead of selling your house is a better option. Property is an appreciable asset.

(5) There are free tuition or if your child is able to study on his or her own and occasionally post questions here requesting for assistance?

There seems to be areas to streamline in your finances.
Work out an end date to paying our debts so that it motivates you towards that day.

Take care.

Thank you for all your replies. Actually I had already reviewed my monthly expenses and I find that there are nothing can be eliminated. I need to pay for my minimum credit cards bills, my kids and my own insurance, share for maid’s salary for my mum as we all eat at her house and she look after all my kids and my nieces. My mum’s allowances and also need to help pay my brothers loan which he had use my name to apply for the credit cards. He don’t have any stable jobs so I got no choice have to pay for him or else the bank will keep calling to me. So basically every month I don’t have enough cash to go shopping. I don’t know there are free tutitions available. I shall take a look at the website provided. We are currently staying on our own and we cant stay with my mum as she is staying with my sister. We also thought of renting out 1 of our room but my father in law as and when will come back and stay so we dare not rent out. We had been trying to sell our house for the past few months but property market now is not too good. Maybe the first thing I should lookout for the free tuition and slowly cut down on the expenses.

Work done on the basket?

If the basket continues to be at constant height (from ground) --> no change in its GPE
If the basket continues to be at constant speed --> no change in its KE

So no work done on basket by the boy then..... 🙂

sunnymoon:
Can someone help me with the following questions? Thanks
A basket is being carried by a boy at a constant height above the ground. Is there work done?

Hi Luna

For Question 12, the reason you answered 0 is because you assumed all surfaces (including the surfaces of the boxes) are frictionless.
Hence, the box Q can be pulled from under without affecting P?

If the box Q can be pulled from under without affecting P, the answer wouldn't be 0 too. Weight of P acts on it causing it to free fall.

🙂
