From Pasir Ris can or not? 😛 Takes about 45 mins but daughter says its too short!

school bus u mean.. 45 mins is expected i guess.. is ur daughter fins taking bus fun? haaa...

Yup... By school bus... She enjoys chatting with the kids on the bus... But i can tell she is very tired out by the time she reaches home. I don't think there is a school bus that goes to SengKang... Even if there is, be prepared for a long journey for the kid...

      Hello ksp,

May I ask a few questions as I was not around for the p1 first day of school.

I read from the tao nan school web, for primary one there is no exam. But, year end, do they still have the prize presentation for top three? If yes, how are they being accessed?

Next question, would like to check for creative writing, how many words or pictures are they required to write on?

      Thanks alot.

      Regards,
      Lenny
      Hi Lenny

There is no exam but there will be 27 tests from term 2 onwards ie 9 tests per subject. The students will also be assessed on stuffs like \"show and tell\"... That's what I understand from the first day briefings.

Recess should be ok today. Only problem is my girl has no mood to eat so she always ends up buying milo or drinks.

      Anyone with kids in P1-D?

Yup… It’s true… Food was sold out by 2nd recess time. Largely due to parents ordering food for themselves too… My hubby is one of the culprits who ordered double portion for himself cos he was famished while waiting for recess… Haha. Anyway I figured tmr onwards will be fine since parents will not be there. My gal had no mood to queue up for food by then so she ate the sandwich and biscuits which I packed for her in a lunch box. If you are worried, pack some simple snacks.

By the way, I thought they had 2 recess timings today for P1 simply because they had to accommodate the parents.

      Oh My Gosh:
Anyone has the P1 Booklist for 2012 (i.e. on hand now; without the need for me to go down to the bookshop)? Lost my copy and need to check some details.

Yes I have it.... What details do u need?

      Hi

My daughter will be in P1 next year in tns. Any one knows what to bring on first day of school? :scratchhead: I don't recall receiving a list when I went for the orientation... Told my girl to pack all the 1A textbooks and workbooks but realized its super heavy.....

      Thanks!

      Hi ineedmilk,

The items to bring on Week 1 is on page 6 of the pink \"Parents' Information Booklet\" that you should have received during Orientation.

      The list on day 1:
      i) Health Booklet
ii) Shaping Maths Activity Book 1A Part 1
iii) Higher Chinese Language for Pri Sch Activity Book 1A
iv) Stellar Worksheets Unit 1 to 4 (Term 1)
      v) Jotter Book labelled as \"Notification Book (J1)\"
vi) Jotter Book Labelled as \"Englist Circulars Book (j2)\"

      😄

Thanks thanks...I have lost the pink Parents Information booklet.... !!

Is there different things to bring every day for the first week?

      Hi,

Can anyone advise if distance is really important in selecting a Pri school? I'm an old school girl of Tao Nan but I'm staying in Pasir Ris. No plans to move house so if I register my daughter into Tao Nan, she will need to travel from Pasir Ris to Marine Parade every day. Is this advisable? or better for me to register her in a Pri Sch in Pasir Ris itself?

      Thanks!

      hope you'll find this useful
