A Singapore employer claimed he started his business without the thought of hiring any foreigners. Now he has 2/3 foreigners and without this 2/3 foreigners, he would have put the 1/3 of SINGAPOREANS including himself out of employment.

So the claim of govt importing FT is wrong...market forces did.
The question you should trace back to is what is the root cause for employer to demand FT's help to run their business.

In any case, I think over here we are quite common in mind and recognise that we need credible opposition in the House to ask the relevant questions, just don't go over-enthusiastic and surprise ourselves and we became the losers, that's all.

I guess you also watched the part of the video whereby the panelist ask why do we still issue 15000 , ok 14000 EP when there is 50000 unemployed.

sometimes we think too simple as all along we are brought up in a clean and transparent country in LKY era. Just put it this way, not all company get orders because they are efficient and good and also now, not all people are hired because they are efficient and good. Sometimes money changes hand where we do not see it. This is the way it works in all these 3rd world countries and now those practices are brought in at the same time with the influx. Why suddenly quality of apartment are being questioned now …why so many things breakdown now…ceiling collapse in new shopping center…etc
