Agree, parent registering their kids to popular schools should have understand the risks and be prepared including being kick out if not within 1km last minute. If risk adverse, go to other schools. Too little time or not to re-register is part of the risk. If the parents stay > 1km still registering their kids implying they well understand the risk. No one to blame. All within the rule of game.

Agree.. they placed a bet and lost.. if risk averse then don't risk it.. odds of 17 for 4 vacancies is waaay to low..

i would be more annoyed :stompfeet: (if i was staying <1km) with the last guy who came in so that those <1km have to ballot! else swee swee all 31 go in via 2C!

As a mother, i sympathize with those who can’t withdraw in time to try for another sch. As a policymaker, i would say no system is perfect. a policy is crafted to suit the majority and not every single person. whatever it is, there will always be ppl unhappy with every single policy there is.


But the crucial thing is that everybody made an informed decision and took the risk. let’s move on and concentrate on helping our kids adapt to a new sch environment. Gd luck to those balloting on Wed and gd luck to the rest trying for 2CS.

Wah is that possible to be strategically living within 1km from ATS, St. Nic and CH and these 4 so happen to be? Their block must be a very hot property and they are so super KS to be monitoring and doing last minute registration instead of genuinely eyeing a school that will best fit their DD or DS.

Whatever it is these 4 are going to make 1 parents' heart-break on 6 Aug as well . So that's 17+28+1 bad karma for them :gloomy: ? Oh ok less 1 for 3 of them if one of them happens to be that broken heart.

I don't blame those parents for registering at the last min.. we, as parents, would do our utmost for our kids.

I will be the first to admit if there was a chance to enter a branded sch <1km from me without balloting, i would have done so at the very last min.

17 other parents outside 1km lost their chance for balloting.

I have predicted that ATS will need balloting at Phase 2C. The last 4 parents who registered last moment for ATS at Phase 2C :stompfeet: resulted in 17 other parents to lose their balloting chance.

Totally agree and in that case by virtue of merit, they are really undeserving to snag any spot during balloting!!! Not only have the 4 dashed the hopes of the 17, but also made the 28 having to go through unnecessary hell of stress and anticipation on 6 Aug. Does ATS check the authencity of parents who make Statutory Declaration in order to qualify for <1km? Cos the way I read on the forum, many are using this SD as a loophole to reserve more than 1 school of their choice :nobuaya: .
