Hi 25hr mama,

I don’t think there are Bio and Hist textbooks for Year 1. I didn’t get them last year. The textbook most referenced would be 1.MT 2.Math/Chem/Phys

      Hi Parents,

I’m an ex-student of PTPS, I came to Singapore when I was P2, and entered PT. PT is school that allows for development in it’s student’s personality, that is, they do not force those values – care, responsibility, resilience, independence, integrity, etc.-- into us, but instead they influence us with those values. For example, my English teacher, Mrs Tan (or Mdm Chen Chai Kim) showed her trust to us by letting us keep the answer key of our exercise books.

PT is a school that provides the necessary materials for us to study. Surely all the basic knowledge is taught in school, but we can always dive deeper and just ask a few "deeper" questions during or after class (usually happens during Science). Teachers are always willing to teach us beyond our module, but we can choose whether to listen or not to. For example, we can request for additional supplementary classes (but I think anyone who does that will be murdered by his classmates…and this probably applies in every primary school).

I was in 3F, 4F and 5F, which were the best class of our level. However, students are only sorted by their results and learning ability. In this school, not having a good start is completely unrelated to what you achieve by the end of P6. It is never to late to start working hard, as teachers and classmates are always willing to provide help. Teachers, regardless what the class, are always willing to give their best, and there is no difference in what is taught (unless it’s a foundation class).

Also, PTPS promotes racial harmony. PT is a school with a shocking number of races. In my class, there were Chinese, Malay, Indonesian, Burmese, Bengali, Korean, Filipino… We usually converse in English, but sometimes we use our own mother tongue language.

PTers have very unique personalities, and we have different values in our hearts. One may value passion over responsibility but another may do the opposite. Therefore, sometimes students conflict and disagree with each other. Even I had some major conflicts with my friends. For me, I chose to take matters into our own hands. I developed my problem solving and interpersonal skills greatly, and grew up in PT knowing that we have to take care of our own problems, and bear the consequences of our actions. In other words, responsibility. This is unique of any primary school I have attended.

Hi, If your friend is confirmed a mainstreamer but in a GEP class now, then not all mainstreamers with above 270 t score (ie at least 271) are in GEP classes.

This means 271 is the cut off point for Mainstream High Scorer.

No, actually. I'm in jakaranda's class and I got 271 so this year's cutoff point shld be higher than that. 😢 FYI I'm not in gep
U SCORED 271!!OMG i didnt know that :scared:

That's assuming jakaranda's friend is in RGS.
I think this year's SBGE takes in pupils with higher Tscore than before (Yup she is in RGS,but not very sure she is in GE class)
Are the ge girls placed in the same class for the new y1s?

      109 110 111 112 113

GEP mix with normal stream PSLE scorers above 270. Also MEP students too.

Only for 2 years. At Y3 all mix together depends on the subject combinations.

Hi, are there really mainstreamers with t score above 270 in GEP classes 109 to 113 this year? Thanks!
One friend from TAG scored 271...she is considered mainstream, I think. (I scored 270...ARRRGHH)

Hi I'll be joining RGS next year!

Just one question regarding the tennis CCA of RGS.
I did not DSA into RGS and entered through PSLE. However, I am interested in joining the tennis CCA of RGS( I have been training since P3).May I know if I can join tennis CCA when school starts or only DSA-tennis players are allowed in the school team?
When is the training, usually? I heard that it might clash with 3rd language lessons.

Hi 🙂 so sorry if this is a little late! I didn't see your post u until now...

Anyway, I'm a current rgs student (year 2 next year) and I have a friend in tennis cca. It's ok if u didnt DSA thru tennis - there will be cca trials for tennis and all the other ccas early next year. U can sign up for the tennis trials n if u do well at the trials, u can still get in 🙂

Everyone who joins sports ccas at rgs will be on the school team so if u get in thru trials, u will be given a spot in the school team (although it doesn't mean you'll actually get to play in tournaments since only 7 of the 12 member of the team get to play 😛 ...)

Training next yr will either be on mon / tues + thurs (I think, that was my friend's schedule for this yr anyway) plus Friday too during competition season. It's ok if u have third Lang on Friday tho cos you'll be excused from Friday training. My friend has third lang too so she just skips the training anyway.

However, my friend told me that tennis will most likely only accept 1 non-dsa player thru trials next year! That's cos they already accepted like 5 dsa tennis players or sth...

      Anyway, GOOD LUCK 😄

1 spot....OMG, but I'm trying it out anyway! Thanks for your reply! 😄
      :thankyou:

Just asking, is it possible to join the Chinese Orchestra with Grade 5 cello? I have 4 years of experience in CO (not school CCA) and performed many times though, but I have no award certificate. Do they just test you on sight-reading or SCALES(<torture)?
