      Hi Cayla,

Care to share your feedback on these 3 schools -Loving kids, Carpe Diem, Intellect Monte Pal & Q-Dees?

      Thanks!
      Hi,

My kiddo now with Loving Kids ... I find the school good, teachers and principals speak well and they really communicated well with each other.

My son is adjusting slowly as we changed childcare as caregivers are too old and sick to help.

I find the place clean and airy. Unlike Qdees - dark and humid smelling. I hear children coughing away at Qdees(with lots of phelgm in their throat kind of cough) and that puts me off.

I like that afternoon session there's montessori sessions for the kids to have their own learning at their own pace.

Intellect Monte Pal is full montessori but they have no vacancy currently when i last call last week.

Carpe Diem also has no vacancy and the person who answers the call does not speak well. There's no vacancy till 2012.. sigh

      Hope this helps.

      SP Mummy:
      Thanks for your prompt reply.

I like the environment and the way the teacher teach in Nativity Church.
Moreover, if she study in this school, she has higher chance to enter into CHIJ Primary School.

Hopefully I can find a after school care for her. Thanks for your suggestion.
Hi u may want to chk out Phyllis sierra cove at punggol Marina country club house. Give her a call to enquire.

My daughter is there for student care n I quite like the place n has requested to ask for adult supervision while the kids bathe there as the place is really good for kids to unwind.

I don't prefer those void deck student care centre. T.

Read her blog n decide 🙂

      Good luck.

      hi

I have already talked to the school leaders, contacted MOE on the guidelines on teachers’ pedagogical aspects and classroom management in primary schools and whether there’s any guideline that MOE stipulated for young children in primary 1 for only allowing them to go to toilet during recess or after lessons. As per what MOE said, they empower the sch to decide on the above. But if we are not satisfied with the school’s processes, we can ring up MOE’s customer service n they would forward the reports on incidents to the school leaders n action must carried out after such reprts.

Am still waiting for actions to be followed up as from feb till now, no security guards at gate 4a from 7.15 to 7.30am.

The communication letters only come after I emailed to the school in Jan. My girl will not forget any communication letter. Also feedback to the sch to post all communications via sch website. The website is so dated with 2009 information. We live in digital age now and information is dated once it is disseminated.

A child’s future is in the experiences she has in the school. Teachers do play a part.

We will meet the vp again near to meet the parent session on 26 may.

When I post out those information, I hope all parents take a more involved role in the child’s life - bullying is on in school and the schools are not dealing it at a larger scale. My girl got back the money and the case is closed. I was not told if the sch has talked to student population at large aby bullying in school. There’s a book on bullying written by an ex teacher I think. I am trying to get that book n give to the sch leaders as a gift n ask them to stop bullying in sch.

      Hi,

Yup… my girl did mention that her teacher is always absent too. Either on course or MC not sure.

If teacher is angry, they will throw temper in class.

Hi everyone, any idea if any parent feels that the school is not having good processes n that teaching and learning is not as good? Understand that the teachers are grappling even to teach P1s who are not schooled in K-schools.

My girl seems to be very bored in class. The last 3 months in the school has been hectic for me -
      1. the school seldom passed information correctly e.g. the Founder’s Day, some days are closed n students do not have to go to sch n i have to constantly chk n clarify with teacher

      2. my daughter once ran out to the car park after i have placed her in sch n she ran out of sch becos she remembered she had not told me to park my car properly the nite b4 n that nearly caused an accident as she ran out to find me while i drove out of a carpark lot. I question the sch where are the teachers manning the gates or the security guard - the VP said they have teachers on duty. What he failed to tell me was that tchers are only on duty from 7.30am till 7.45am - i drop my kiddo there by 7.15am. So the security guard was ‘repreimanded’ but i did not complain abt the security guard… they just find someone to be a scapegoat?

      3. any one has teachers who refuse to have their students to go to toilet? My girl did. I have already reminded the teachers to take note to allow my girl to go toilet. Things went bad when my girl felt that she had to pee but could not pee at all n she took to not drinking any water so as not to go toilet. Last wed saw her in high fever n with complaints of back pain n the teacher just sent her to sick bay without taking her temp! Her temp was 39.1 deg c!!! and my girl had to call me by herself from the general office! I had to take her to KKH for emergency as i was worried over UTI that may lead to back pain/kidney pain and the doctor had kindly written a medical note to allow the teachers to let my girl go to the toilet when the need arise as he saw for himself that my girl visits the toilet every 10 mins . This was due to constant holding of urine for long periods. Bladder is affected. The doctor’s concern was to ensure that’s not psychological issue or that this may lead to urine incontinence? So now with that legal medical note, the teachers start to inform each other to look out for my girl. But in the first place, i had told them to chk n allow my girl to go toilet. They are still young children. How not to let them go? who will go toilet to play? If they do play in the toilet - issue is with the engagement of teaching n learning in classrooms , if not then the kids have behavioral problems which calls out for attention??

      4. very disappointed to see my girl who enjoys learning to become so negative in school. She was made monitress but that make her more stressed.

Am going to find more time to talk to the teachers but it may seem the teachers are already shunting my calls… sad…

Am in the process of considering to change sch.

Do talk to your children more n find out if your children are doing well. Heard from my girl that the teachers usually will yell at them when the teachers are angry. That’s not good classroom management…

Good luck in this school. Maybe it is just my luck.

Janet, is your prince or princess in P1 next year too?
      hi hi
yep... My princess is in p1 next year. I love that the sch is single session sch n cohort is smaller n heard from friends' kids that the teachers are nice but firm n the school is very strong in character building. Perhaps like a mini-Dunman high there ... 🙂 😄
