Hi, Farrer Road Station is much nearer. It is 5 mins walk to the school with covered walkway.
Hi
Any students travel from red line ?
Based on moveit, we need to change to downtown line alight at botanic garden and walk 11 mins. I find itโs a little far to walk. Any other ways to travel ? -
RE: St. Margaret's Secondary
Hi Lil_Jade,
During my girlโs batch (she graduated last year), it was according to PSLE score for the first class as most of them are not from St Margโs Primary. Since they are from non-affliated school like my girl, they have a higher minimum COP so most of their results are above average. My girl did not take higher Chinese in PSLE but that has no effect on the class allocation. Iโm not sure about DSA though. -

Yes. Nanyang JC is one of the popular choices. More imptly is for them to go to different JC open house and it will give a better insight of which school they prefer, not necessarily how good the JC is. Distance is also another factor to consider as JC life is the toughest not only academic but also mental challenge.
can anyone share how is the o level results for the top 40-50 students of express class ? Can they all go to good JCs ? -
RE: St. Margaret's Secondary
I think they do. Majority of her Sec 1 classmates were from other schools with higher COP while the rest of the classes are those from the affiliated primary school.
Your girl will be in good care

RE: St. Margaret's Secondary
Hi, St Margaret's academic environment is well paced. Throughout the 4 years, they were not given tons of homework and I don't remember my girl having to stay up late for homework except for examination period and occasionally project assignment. The school is neither slack nor pushy so the balance is good. Of course she also had her fair share of stress during exam period esp the first time she encountered 2 heavy weight subjects tested on the same day in Sec 3. But she learnt to manage it better in Sec 4. I don't understand why can't they schedule one subject per day in 'O' levels exam. Coping with 2 different subjects on the same day, plus the quantity and quality of work to study is very stressful for any student. The system has been such so what we can do as parents is to keep watch of our kids stress level and be there for them and give them moral support. I can't help her during those moments but I stayed up late with her when she struggled and gave her massage whenever she needed.
St Margaret's discipline is rather strict. The girls In my DD's class is generally well behaved. Now that she has graduated, she misses her sec school days very much.
All in all, it has been a good choice and my girl and her friends grew up to be young fine ladies. You can view my post on her graduation in my Facebook Jann Phonics.
All glory to God

Today is the release of O level result?
Yes, today 2 pm. My girl will be receiving it too
May all parents give support and encouragement to their kids regardless of their result. -
RE: 16yo commit suicide after O levels result
It is NOT the end of the world if the result is not to the student's or parents' expectation tmr. It is NOT the end of the world if the child can't go to the JC of their choice.
There are many options to progress from their good or not so good result and it is NOT Just CONFINE to JC only to be successful. I pray hard that there will be NO teens suicidal over O Levels result because there is a whole range of options for them to choose from what they are best at. It is just a new beginning.
Let your teens watch below video by S'pore home grown NOC.
