RE: Q&A - PSLE Math
Pls help me with this Mathematics question. I know that the method is repeated identity by using ratio method. But the units are really large to divide and it is tedious. If you know of a simpler method, please post it. Thanks in advance!
Amos, Ben and Carl and David shared the cost of a dinner. The ratio of the amount paid by Amos to the rest of them is 3:7. The ratio of the amount paid by Ben to the rest of them was 1:6. The ratio of the amount paid by Carl to that paid by David is 5:8. Amos paid $54 more than Carl.
a)What was the cost of the dinner?
b)How much did Ben and David pay altogether? -

(a) Find the ratio of the distances travelled by the lorry to the van to the car at the moment the car passed the van.
(b) Find the distance between Town A and Town B.
