I have looked at all the posts on TKPS. Very useful comments.

We are new citizens in Singapore and are very much looking forward to getting our kids the true blue Singapore education experience. TKPS is within 1-2 Kms of our current residence. I would like to know the following and will be very appreciative of any useful response. My child will only apply for Preschool in 2023 but I need to know whether we should move residence, stay in the same area and / or volunteer here or somewhere else - as we will not be eligible in Phase 1 and 2A.

1. Parent volunteer. Can I start community volunteer in Marine Parade GRC and will that count towards TKPS 2B quota?
2. Can my kid take Chinese as MTL even though we are not chinese and none of other MTL fit either? He is learning chinese in preschool.
3. Is there a lot of academic pressure in this school compared to say, other similarly ranked school?
4. I have heard that schools here tend to separate kids based on their academic ranking pretty early in P1? Is that correct and does it happen in TKPS?
5. Was there balloting in 2B and 2C last year? I have searched the website but just cannot find this information and will be helpful if someone could let me know please!
