    • RE: 2015 Request for Advice on Selecting Secondary Schools

      hi

I am browsing several thread and I believe this is the correct spot for my post.

At first, I am hesitant to post since most of the T-score ive seen here are way higher than my DS. But nevertheless, I can say I am going thru same dilemma as yours, selecting what we think is the best school for our DC 🙂

My DS got T-score of 184.
He's school is affiliated to St Patricks

      We both selected the following:
      1. St Patricks School (Affiliated)
      2. Hai Sing Catholic School
      3. Pasir Ris Sec School
      4. Bedok View Sec School
      5. Temasek Sec School
      6. Dunman Sec School

Honestly, i am still torn to select St Patricks as 1st choice coz I preferred Temasek or Dunman Sec School. But the N(A) for Temasek is 188, while Dunman is 189 (if im not mistaken).

I hope someone can advise me if we could still try Temasek/Dunman? if not, should we still proceed the affiliated school as 1st choice or should I break it and select Hai Sing or Pasir Ris which I found out, after some research, is more academically inclined.

      hi guys!

my son will be in P6 next schoolyear (2015)

any idea whether P5 pupils usually have school activities at the end of the year in preparation for P6? coz I may send my kid to our home country right after schoolyear ends this November, for a vacation.

hi everyone! thanks for all your reply & help.

I just want to update this thread...

I submitted an application to MOE thru my son's school for FL in lieu..we got an approval after few weeks...

now my son is on his 3rd term taking French lesson

      🙂

Though I am confused why some of his classmate (French Class) only took 1 term, afterwards, they stop already. I don't think they change school or something...

Cheers for caveman! At least now u can relax as well.

Best of luck for others who will still undergo balloting. Try to bring/wear any items that you feel or believe will bring you luck. Coz i did it on the day of balloting under p2c. And it worked for us!

Think positive and pray, but nevertheless prepare a backup plan

      caveman:
Called up TKPS, gotten the confirmation that all applicants within 1km will be accepted.

      心中的大石终于可以暂时放下了。

Thank you all for the info, encouragement and kind support.
