      Teachers do not reference the optional or recommended titles at all 🙂 Green pen is a must for corrections. Frixion pen recommended so the kids can erase when they copy the answers wrongly.

      Booklist for P1s is given out on orientation day itself. You can find a 2016 copy of it on the school website - contact us - school bookshop. Not sure when the 2017 copy will be loaded. The 2017 booklists were just given out to existing students last Friday.

      Ya, school may recommend foundation subjects if the child not passing the subjects (not sure what marks, but should be less than 50). My impression is only a handful, if any, Nhps students, do the foundation subjects. So usual concern is the HCL.

      Can’t remember the marks, but think if all other subjects above 75, then no problem continuing with HCL if get 50/60? for HCL . Anyway, at end of P4, school just recommends the subject banding. Parents still get to decide. At end of P5, school will decide.

    • RE: Q&A - PSLE Math

      Don’t understand how to derive the answer given :

      72 + 36 = 108
      108 = 1 unit
      4 units —> 432
      432 + 72 —> 504

    • RE: All About Choosing Piano Schools And Teachers

      Reassess the suitability to the teacher. Is your girl doing what is beyond her ?
      And your kid's practice regime.
      How does she typically practice or try a new piece ?
      When my boy was learning note reading, I made Flashcards. You may want to see how else to make her learn better.
      Like now my boy has difficulty remembering (or plain lazy) musical terms for his theory tests, after translating them to flashcards to \"play\", he can remember them well.

      Flash cards sounds good . I think I will make my own to try too 🙂
      Anyone here know which apps on phone related to piano learning is good ?

      For learning notes, \"NoteWorks\" is more interesting and caters to beginner to higher levels. 😄
