I have only tried Fair price online and use it regularly. Saves time and effort but they really need to spruce up.

My main problem is they dont have much variety as in the stores. I just dont get it why. Like - brown rice just one or two brands. So ends up i still have to go and lug things home, just the frequency is lesser.

Website is a mess. Dunno if done on lowest quote, it is archaic . My rants about the website
If I chose some items in page 1 say pasta, but cant decide on pasta sauce so want to go to page 2 before deciding on the pasta sauce, and i come back to page 1 , my selections in page one is lost.
When I choose some new items , I have to add to shopping cart once and re-choose it again for adding to the Shopping list.
The shopping list itself, may have some items that are not in stock . Then for alternatives I have to go to the usual menu. Instead it would make sense to have a button in the shopping list , next to to the out of stock item, that will take me to that section directly.

It would do good for them to remember that they are selling stuff, so make it tempting for us to get stuff, not make us think never mind.

Sorry about the rant but bad interfaces :frustrated: me

Agree with you! But I guess they have enough market share that they don't feel that there is a need to upgrade. I still use them because of price, convenience and range (even though less than the stores).

Agree with you both! I think for now they are still choosing to focus on their physical stores, with a few hypermarts opening these few years? But their website is really pretty painful to navigate through. On the contrary I think Giant recently revamped theirs? Maybe Fairprice will jump on the bandwagon soon

Online grocery shopping not for me. I love supermarket shopping.

Same here. If everything is done online, then no need to go out for retail therapy??? How to distress?

hahaha I love walking through the supermarket too but I will love to be able to buy the heavy stuffs online and leave the small stuffs for shopping in physical stores!

Thanks for all the responses! Finally tried Redmart today and everything was good! Especially like the fact that they have many delivery slots to choose from! However it seemed like they dont have a lot of variety as of now… will recommend them if you can find the items that you want there! Otherwise maybe the larger retailers will have more items on sale or in stock.

@sleepy oh yes, the problem with not knowing the expiry date…

but I will give online groceries a shot given all the positive feedback…

How about Giant online? they seem to have all the big savings in their physical stores so probably they will be the cheapest option online also?

thanks for all the help! 😂

Seems like there are quite a number of people using this service! I always thought most people prefer to touch and feel the actual product for themselves, thats why online grocery isnt that big a thing here.. 😓

Anyway I found out that RedMart seemed to have the cheapest delivery out of all the online grocers.. free for orders above $79! Any reviews on that..?

    • RE: Buying groceries, online or not?

Hi! I was recently introduced to online grocery shopping for my dry groceries needs but I'm a little skeptical about it.. It's a tempting service, after going through a few nightmares carrying the many items together with an uncooperative baby..but at the same time the lack of response and usage of such services in Singapore is discouraging me a little.. Anyone has any experiences or recommendation? 🤷
