You can take a look at Sunny Bunny Montessori at Blk 455 Sin Ming Avenue. Heard they have completed the renovation. Their fee also inclusive of all programs. My cousin went there last month, like the place but was told that they are full.

RE: Girl, 3, saved after being trapped in school bus
That’s why parents, don’t send your child to Childcare or preschool by school bus. If you don’t drive, just send your child to the one nearest home.

RE: All About Montessori
There is a Character Montessori at Ponggol near St Anne Church. The one at Ang Mo Kio not so good. Keep changing teachers and they don't really teach full Montessori. Not sure if the one in Ponggol is good. Can go check on their teacher quality and curriculum. May be you can request to sit in a few days to observe?

RE: All About Montessori
hi Ocearth. Huh! I met Natalie before. Looks like Natalie is no different from ordinary preschool teacher who job hop. If she is has a heart for the children she won't leave the children in the middle of the year. I bet she won't be long in her next school too! Who did you hear about Natalie's departure? What i know usually a school will not anounce departure of a teacher before they introduce the new teacher. If Natalie is the one who told you then I just feel that what she has done is morally wrong. Then you need not have to feel the lost of her departure. i feel a good teacher also has to be morally upright. If she is the one who break the news to you then she is trying to make the parents panick and feel as though the school cannot do without her. Did you verify with the director or talk to her about her plan after her departure? For all you know, there may be other side of the story. To satisfy my curiosity, I will try to find out more. Just wait for my news. For the sake of your child, do not make hasty decision. May be she will get an even better teacher? What I know is the director is serious in getting good teachers judging from the teachers she has in all her schools. I visited all the Sunny Bunny schools before. Last month, I went to Bishan library to watch You Noisy Monkey, a puppet show by Sunny Bunny children. The show was in both English and Chinese. I am very impressed especially with an Indian girl who spoke perfect Chinese. They are performing 1 show a month. Go and see and judge for yourself. We often hear the news of unhappy parents of some centres caught by huge increase in fees. I just found out recently from a friend whose kid attending Sunny Bunny child care @ Sin Ming, they did not raise a single cents of the fees since 4 years ago! Their new fees are only applicable to new enrollments. Just think which school won't increase their fees of their existing children for 4 years! Honestly, I support Sunny Bunny because this is one of the very few schools I visited that has good value added program and teachers.

Who would have known that they would send a doctor who just joined the party 3 weeks ago? But a candidate of this caliber should have no problem learning all the issues commoners face in 3 weeks.
mummy so kiasu:
This is what people mean by voting for the sake of opposition. If WP was sincere they would have place a better person for a candidate. Which they should have...
LLL might not seem to be the best candidate. At least she looks sincere & at least better than Tin Pei Ling of Marine Parade GRC. Of course, the chance of winning will be higher if WP sends a higher profile candidate.
Learning what commoners face is one thing. To emphatise with commoner is another thing. Though LLL not doctor, Think she not only know but understand what commoners face. -

My colleague was shopping around for nursery in the bishan area. At one branded childcare centre, he was casually asking if they had infantcare services(he has a baby in 6 months time but he didn't mention this). The teacher told him that infant care is not as profitable and only childcare can make money for the owner, so focusing on childcare only is more worthwhile.
Isn't infantcare charging much higher in fees already? So is the lower profit the reason why few childcare centres want to provide infantcare? Notwithstanding the owners need to make a living, I kind of find it disturbing that profits and not passion is almost the sole objective that motivates the private operators.
I heard the same from another centre at same area that infant care not making money and sometime lost money. This centre still has infant care service as a SERVICE for the sake and convenience of parents so that they can place both infant and older child in the same centre. They say they make the money from child care.
Operators need to make money too. If they are not making money why must they operate? -

I am also finding a good CC for my DS as my maid want to transfer. So far I short listed moral care, PCF @ Indus road and eager beaver. Any one has feedback on these CCC?
Btw, Sparkletots radin mas is not a good choice if anyone is considering. Too much tv programmes, tv at 4pm and showing Mr bean, Tom & jerry. What can the kids benefit from it!
You are right! Showing TV starting at 4pm and if a parent picks the child at 7 pm the child must have been watching TV for 3 hours! :scratchhead: -

I was not allowed to sit in at all but they have an orientation day where the parents and kids can attend class before the kid starts school. It is very helpful and we stayed there for about 2 hours. But if u read the previous thread, there was a mummy who managed to sit in.
Don't you think that it sounded fishy if you are not allow to sit in? Most preschools will allow parents to sit in for the first 3 days fully. When you sit in, not only you can help your child to adapt, most importantly, you can observe the teaching not only the class your child is in but other classes too and if you find that they are not up to your expectation you can withdraw during the trial period without having to have your deposit forfeited! -
