I heard that Edify founders used to teach at Bluetree?

I assume enrichment schools like BlueTree and Edify will go through other top schools papers ?
Also heard that at Bluetree Teacher Jolene class , number of students can be as many as 18? I find that too big of a class even for group tuition hmmmm

Hope others with experience in these tuition centers can share some insights . So far I have read mostly good reviews for BlueTree on Google .

Yes Teacher Ko was the academic director at Bluetree for many years. He joined Mr Xiao at Edify early last year. My P5 boy is having science tuition with them…Both teachers are good and friendly. Their lessons are engaging and kids like to come for their classes.

      Hi Lily,

Thanks for the recommendation, this is such a gem! Both my primary and secondary kids are attending their math and science lessons now. The difference after attending the lessons seem quite significant!
Yes I also recommend Edify Math and Science at Kovan. Their class size is small and fees are more affordable than other bigger name tuition centers.

Hi, does anyone know if there's a after school care at MSHS? I googled the learning chapter and saw they've permanently closed.

      Thanks.
Yes there is. They changed to a new vendor this year, it’s called Ace@work Student care.

I am about to move to *just* within 1 km of PLMGS, one more block and it’s 1-2km. Daughter going to P1 in 2024. I just checked and we are also within 1km of holy innocents, but we prefer PLMGS because it is in line with our family’s religion.

Plmgs doesnt accept parent volunteer anymore.

I cant seem to find the balloting information for 2023 intake. Anyone knows what are the likely chances? Should i look at recent years trend or balloting trend for the same chinese zodiac yr.. because i know dragon year always have balloting for instance. I need to make a plan B
      2022 P1 registration: Phase 2C, 81 vacancies for 81 all within 1km (no balloting).
      2021 P1 registration: Phase 2C, 62 vacancies. 105 applied of which 89 were within 1km. Balloting for within 1km.

Based on 2017 birth rate, this year it should be similar to 2022, if not easier to get in via 2C for within 1km.

Hi i am considering PLMGS as one of the option for my girl who will register for P1 in 2024. i do have a concern that in our family myself and my husband are free thinkers, and her grandparents are buddhists. i personally would not influence or mind her own religion selection. i would just like to understand from existing parents for the culture of PLMGS, on the view of children and the parents who are not Christians. is it ok if the child maintains her own stand if she is not drawn to the religion?
My girl is in P1 this year. Our situation is the same as you. My husband and I are free thinkers, my in laws are Buddhists. We are fine to let our kids decide their own religion when they are older. In PL they sing many Christian songs which my girl really enjoys, and have Chapel every Tuesday (which she told me it’s boring). Don’t let this religion thing deter you, instead do know that the school focuses a lot on values and getting conduct and attitudes right for young. Hope your girl can join the PL family in 2024!

Yesyes.. I looked at the ballot history, seems like it's not a popular school at all. Sometimes just kind of wondering whether this school is really OK or not lol. 😓

It’s the location, and the fact that its nearby schools are more popular such as Maris Stella , PLMGS and St’s Andrews… most parents will try those first. If they get balloted out then they apply Cedar.

      Phase 2C
      2021 105 applied for 62 places, ballot <1km
2020 109 applied for 81 places, cut off at <1km
      2019 108 applied for 88 places, ballot 1-2km
      2018 93 applied for 69 places, ballot 1-2km
      2017 116 applied for 90 places, ballot 1-2km
      2016 115 applied for 110 places, ballot >2km

It should be clear that competition is getting greater for PLMGS.
Stats for no. of applicants within 1km:
      2021: 89
      2020: 81
      2019: 79
      2018: 68

The trend is more parents are willing to move within 1km for the school.
