myz:For me, I would strongly recommend I Can Read. I enrolled my DD last year based on my colleague's recommendation. It was the right decision to enrol her. After a mere few mths in the course, my DD has confident in reading on her own. Now she can read independently a variety of story books eg Roald Dahl books, and can even answer comprehension questions (covered in Advanced ICR). She would most likely still be struggling to read like a number of her child care friends if she did not join ICR last year. Coincidentally, those classmates of hers who can read well are also enrolled in ICR. I find ICR effective and would recommend to parents.
