Hello! Congrats! Your child must have done well for PSLE to be receiving the ESIS scholarship! It is awarded to the top one-third of students admitted to independent schools by PSLE score. For those who are sure that your kid won't get in the NUSH camp this sat, may I know how do you determine? Your kid said they can't do most of the questions? How's the selection test questions?

I asked my kid, but he kept quiet. He said he is not supposed to tell me anything.. So I can't get anything out from him...

My kiddo said the math portion was similar to the math olympiad - slightly more challenging ..... she said there were around 30 qns and she wasn't sure of the answers for around 5 of them (so that in itself already tells us she wont make the cut) .... Also, the qns are open ended i.e. not MCQ For the science, it was also around 30 MCQ qns .... most of the topics are outside the syllabus but there would be information within the questions themselves that the candidate would be able to deduce the answers .... highly logical, according to my kiddo so she found the science portion ok. I am sure she would not make it as she does not participate in many competitions (only did 2 math competitions through the school and scored ok for just one of them) plus she is very careless - so all the more no hope! We signed up for the assessment really for the experience and have no expectations at all

Morning everyone! Quick update to let those of us waiting for the NUS High Round 1 outcome know that the results are not out yet. I just called NUS High and was informed by the staff member. She could not confirm when the results would be announced - so I guess it is a waiting game now. In any case, I am very certain we would not be proceeding to the next round so will remind my kiddo that she should just work towards doing her best for the PSLE Thanks!

Thank you so much for the info! Our chances aren't great so we are not expecting to receive anything but just thought we'd ask so we can let kiddo know that the door's closed and she should just focus on the upcoming PSLE

Received email from MGS today for STEM selection test on 15 Jul 2023. There will be a group selection task; individual interview and personal response essay. Reporting time is 10am and dismissal time is 1pm. For info. Thank you!
