    • RE: All About Learning Tamil

      Hi mummies…

Do you have your DS or DD in Hindi class? Kindly need you views on sending my 4year old DS to a Hindi class. He is currently in a local kindergarten for Nursery and we have enrolled him in an Indian International school for K1 from Jan 2013…means he will be joining the class on the last term. The school has Hindi as subject from K1 onwards and my DS has no knowledge about Hindi as we don’t speak hindi at home. And joining in the middle of the year is going to be even more difficult for him to cope up. So we are thinking about sending him to Hindi class to make him familiarise with the simple words and letters. We stay in Chua Chu kang and there is a hindi class going on nearby in teck whye. Do anyone send your kids there? What are the classes like and the fees? Will they take a kid inbetween? Is there one-to-one class? Or any mommies know any home tutors in hindi ? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

      Hi Awonder…

My son is going to Kinderland @ CCK SunShine Place, he is in N2 this year… SO far, he loves to goto school and meet his friends and teachers… They do have theme for each term… like this term(Term2) , they had Ants theme for English and Caterpillar-Butterfly theme for Chinese… They learn phonics also but u’ll not notice it now… They don’t bring works hoem and they don’t do homeworks… But they do Home-link project twice a year for English and Chinese, with help from the parents… Now, the fees are a bit expensive but i think its worth it… You may arrange for a school tour along with your child so you can decide better…

      Hi buds

How are you doing ? Its m again and this time its for Arts class... My DS loves to draw all the time..so looking for an art class nearby.. As in my previous post, Global art is close to us and I also like their curriculum..like foundation 1,2,3,4..then basic,intermediate,.... But the only drawback is its not a complete Art class there...its part of various enrichment centers .. Just one room for the arts class...
I have also booked a trial session today @ Kids Art, Tiong Bahru.. They also focuss on developing the skills first... I know your gals have been going there for quite sometime(read your posts in this thread.. :)...) How do you find the class to be? Does your girls like it even now ? I noticed they take only abt 45mins per session...wondering if its too short..!!?? And how well did your gals benefit from the class ?
It seems like no one is answering my queries in this thread... 😞

      Hi Chamonix...
Are your kids still at Kids ARt? Its been 2yrs since you replied in this post I guess... How have your kids progressed so far? Care to share your views..??

    • RE: Art class

Hi… We went down to Global art @Bukit Batok for atrial session for my soon-to-be 4yr old DS… He was able to colour the picture given neatly and was able to identify the shades too…so they said he is ready to be enrolled, etc,… But the centre looks like a tution set-up… Its the colour train enrichment center in blk 638… Anyone have their DS or DD enrolled there for arts class…? Is it good?

Both Global Art and Kids Art are focussed on building the fundamentals for drawing at intial stage… which I think is very goood… I now have to decide between either one… Any mommies care to share your views ?

      Hi buds

Iam now sitting in the park at phoenix heights, just left my DS at MMI for his first lesson. Need to fetch him at 10am , and replying to your kind post... 🙂
Yeah...we can't find time for exercises most of the time...can't disagree.. 😉
I also agree with... Can't rush a child in learning.. I think its better to leave them learn at their own pace rather than rushing the lessons and in the end, the child learns nothing and then need to retrace the learning path all over again..!!
It might take 2-3weeks longer if there child learns in his own pace, but he would learn properly with all his heart and won't forget easily..
As you have mentioned, I don't think I'll but the\"Living ABC\" software, out also costs a lot..!!
I am going to read books to him as usual...and stock to him phonics programme..
Thank you again buds for replying...You take care too... 🙂
