As we prepare for school, I am wondering if there is a group for parents who have formed a group as well. If not, perhaps we start one. I volunteered at the school and am excited for my daughter to join the community.
Hi my girl just got into scgs for 2020. May I ask if there is any school chat group that I can join? Thank you

RE: 2019 P1 Registration Exercise for 2020 In-take
Does anyone know where we can find data on the 2018 registration for entry in 2019. Seems like the data here on this website has not been updated since August 2017. Although some schools publish this data on their school websites, others do not. Many thanks in advance.

RE: Lakeside Primary
Hi Everyone
We are considering living near Lakeside primary. There seems to be little activity among parents from this school. I am wondering how the environment for kids in this school are? What are the strengths and areas of improvement for the school? The school does not seem to have an active parent volunteer program. I am wondering if there is enough engagement among the parents in the school. Look forward to hearing any opinion from other parents (past and current) on here.
Best

Thank you for your kind response. My daughter is Singaporean. From my research thus far, we have narrowed down to the following: Henry Park, SCGS & RGPS. Have applied for volunteering at all these schools. Depending on which schools accept us and where we find a suitable place to buy/rent, we will make our choice. Being away from Singapore is making this decision so much more open as we now have a choice of where to live as well.jnarayanan:
I am a Singapore Citizen living in Switzerland. I am a naturalized citizen and hence find the process of P1 registration quite new and complex. We are planning to relocate to Singapore in 2018 and will go through the P1 registration in 2019. As I can choose where to live, I am wondering how we should make this choice. We had planned to live in the Bukit Timah Area as there are a number of good schools. It seems like it would be best to live within a km of a school of choice. Am I correct in assuming that? Any tips on this would be greatly appreciated.
I assume that your child is also a Singapore Citizen.
Living within 1km from the school of choice increases your chance to get in. Please note that for popular schools, living within 1km doesn't guarantee a place.
I also assume that you are not affiliated with any clans or churches, so you won't be eligible for Phase 2B. But if you are a Catholic, you are eligible to register in any Catholic primary school in Phase 2B.
Could you share more about your child (citizenship, gender, choice of school type: same-gender or mixed, etc) so that we can better advise you? -
