My child has graduated from WPS. It has been a rocky experience for my child. Indeed like some of the parents mentioned there are good teachers and bad ones as well. Not to mention their 1st principal who is always \"no no\" attitude when you try to feedback about their \"not-so-good\" teacher. Not sure whether the new male principal will be better to heed feedback from parents so that your child will not continue to suffer at the hands of some monster teachers.
I remember in the WPS parent chat group many parents were complaining about a particular teacher, some parent did take action to talk to the form teacher and principal, but it did not help much. If i can remember is about a female teacher humilating or insulting some of the boys in the class. My child also got the \"goodies\" from this particular teacher as well. Heard that this teacher is still around. What i did that time is for the teacher to totally condemn my child so that she can forget about him/her. The year was a terrible experience for my child. He/she totally wanted to give up on the subject which is once his/her best subject. My child catch up with his/her studies by going for tuition and own self revision and practicing including constant encourage from parents and tutor. Glad that he/she manage to score well for PSLE and landed on his/her dream school. I want to mention here, this is not and never the credit of the school. I know a handful of students from band 2 or 3 actually score much better than band 1 class student in PSLE. Should they thank the teachers for condemning them and they excel on their own?
But i want to tell parents, do not underestimate or ignore your child feedback about their teacher especially in West Spring. I found that the teachers like to play with strategies, they always like to assume your child is lazy, not working hard etc...in fact our child is suffering in school under their \"bullies\". As parent, we need to believe our child and give them support too. Today school \"bullies\" are not limited to classmates, but from teachers as well. Because the teachers are in the upper hands in such situation, if you feedback to the school, it will be a hell for your child. So my approach then was to ask my child not to take too seriously what the negative teacher had told him, don't let it affect him/her.
Other than some \"black sheep\" in the school, the school is considered just a normal neighbourhood school. Please do not \"over-market\" the school. Just because you are in the PSG and the teacher give your child \"some faces\", doesn't mean the school is so \"super\". Parents do not send their child to WPS to get insulted, humuliated or bullied by the teachers just because they do not match their expectations.
