Sometimes easier for us to say. We will never know what the kid is going through, standing on stage with their photo flashed for whole school to see and then getting scolded in front of hundreds of schoolmates by the Principal. I do empathise with these kids. This is not teaching the kids to be resilient. Nor will this action teach the kids to be responsible. They might just rebel and hate going to school.
All kids are an individual. Their learning capabilities are different. Your kid might not have been called up before because u did a great job teaching them to be more organised. Unfortunately not all kids are the same. Some take longer to process informations. The school need to know this. School is supposed to be a happy place where kids learn and pick up life skills. Shaming them in public for minor things like forgetting to submit forms or handing in homework is wrong. Why is there a need be so extreme? These kids are only in primary school. I am sure the school and teachers can do better than this.

RE: West Spring Primary
My gal told me the same thing. A few of her classmates got their photo taken and shamed on stage. If this is the school way of disciplining, its ridiculous !
Initially, kids were shamed because of latecoming. Now, forget to bring books or submit form also kanna.
Why need to instill such fear in kids?! They are only primary school level. This is unnecessary. -
