I wonder if there is exam for P1 students in Hong Wen?

My boy cannot stop moving…most of the time, he cannot sit still…and when he’s sitting at the table for dinner or doing homework, he’ll shake his legs…arrrgh…

I got a free copy of Tao Shu and find it to be quite interesting...


...easy to read too!
It's supposed to help children build up their capability to read Chinese books I personally find it very helpful, and my 3yr old likes the colourful pictures in the book

Was wondering any parent has come across this book?

my comment is, regardless of the non-ideal comments, which school supposedly seems to match your criteria of CCAs, academic performance, culture etc? if you can't decide cos there isn't much significant difference, go for those that you are likely to get in after taking in consideration the travel distance. you are already at the second last stage of registration; either go for ballot and be prepared for Phase 3, or get Phase 2C supp done with and prepare for your kid's P1 - there isn't much choice left.

...and maybe try to apply for your 1st choice school again for P2...

Any comments from anybody w.r.t. The Ballet & Music Company at united square...


I would like to send my 3 yr old girl for ballet class, and since her brother has enrichment class at goldhill, it will be convenient for me....

Can share how was the balloting conducted like?

my experience was :

8.55am : Reached the school... illegally parked on the yellow line somemore
9.00am : Went into the school hall, and see tons of parents. Signed in beside DS name and sit down.
9.05am : Principal gave speech. Principal informed that there is a pair of twins, and if they are successful in balloting, they will take up 2 places...
9.15am : Parents took the name slips and passed to teachers-in-charge to be folder and placed into transparent fishbowl.
9.20am : Balloting starts......
9.25am : ...Ng Jordan... !!! Yeah!! (One of the longest 5 mins for me.. :p)
9.30am : Confirm the names on the board... Yes! iT'S THERE!

Quite an 'exciting' event for me...

Just to share some good news. My daughter is successful in the ballot this morning. She has secured a place in Hong Wen Primary School for 2010.
