Dear all, my son is in P5 this year - for his year end results, it was so-so; 80+ per subject and he got AL12 in total. We're thinking he should focus more on his academics next year.
We are planning to use Robotics as DSA next year, and early next year there's RoboCup competition. For parents with DSA experience, is P6 participation very impt in DSA submission?
We're in 2 minds whether we should let him go for it because the trainings are intense.
In 2022 and 2023 he participated in NRC and RoboCup respectively.
Experienced parents with STEM DSA, appreciate your advices please 🙏

RE: DSA 2023
Dear parents, I’d like to ask : if I see a school that offers STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Aesthetics and Mathematics) as DSA - what exactly are they looking for and what do we use to apply? For example, using Maths and Science as considered academics but in STEAM there’s Maths and Science mentioned. Will robotics fall under here?

RE: DSA 2022
Morning all. Is there some sort of literature that compiles the differences, pros and cons of the different streams offered currently? I’m trying to explain the difference to DS but I only have experience in O, A levels and Diploma - which could also be outdated by now. ><
And trying my best to describe based on the bits and pieces I’m reading here (which is a great help btw!). -

That's what I thought so too. But my friends are telling me DSA to HCI/NYGH etc need PSLE of AL 9 (for example) to qualify and confirm the DSA…
If your child gets a CO for an IP program, I believe that he/she will only need to meet the COP for Express to qualify. I think that's an AL score of 22?

Can I ask for those who got CO - is there a conditional acceptance like the child must get AL 9 (for example) in PSLE then will be confirmed? For example for IP schools.
