Hi,
May I know if I can register my kid during the Phase 2A2, but withdraw and register with another nearby school during the Phase 2C if I see that my chances are good…?
Reason I ask is cuz my hubby’s alma mater is Chongfu in Yishun but we stay in Bishan. Hoping to get into a school nearby…e.g. Peichun, Kuo Chuan which still have to ballot from historical records… but maybe we might take the chance.
What other alternatives would you suggest?
Pei Chun balloting history seems to ease up in recent years. Why is that so? Is it because they are moving… or no particular reasons…?

RE: Travel: Australia - Gold Coast
Dear all,
I am planning to go GC during Sept with my 3yo + 5yo. My 3yo birthday is 2Sep, so effectively she would be a days/ weeks just after 3yo (depends on my exact holiday booking). I don’t know if the theme parks are very particular with the age? Reason I ask is because admission fees is waived for less than 3yo. Anyone have sneak into the theme parks without a paying the admission fees for such borderline cases?
Singaporean mentality haha. Trying to save some money here. :pp
Which are the more suitable themeparks for 3yo and 5yo? I was thinking Movie World is not to be missed… cant decide on which others…
Btw, do the themeparks offer "Fast Pass" kindaf privileges?
Thanks in advance! -
RE: Travel: Australia - Gold Coast
I have two young kids - 20months old, and 3.5 yrs. and I am looking for a short holiday with them in June/ July period. Is gold coast recommended? and what are the places you recommend for such young kids?
Is renting car a necessity?
It can be challenging travelling with young kids ( their naptimes/ crankiness/ food options etc) so I am hoping for simple/ less stressful arrangement but yet fun and enjoyable for them.
Hope if anyone can share some tips/ experience . Thanks ahead! -
RE: [Bishan] Primary Schools
thanks for the info. I have not gone into the research of the sec school. But I am not too sure if the affliation to kuo chuan sec is a ‘selling’ point. Hearsay, kuo chuan pri is a good school… but not the same sentiments for the affliated sec school though. But its just hearsay… no concrete info.
Sorry for ‘cross’-thread analysis… but I am wondering if you have a choice of P2A for Anderson Pri(AMK), would you consider that over Kuo Chuan Presby Pri for P2C… or P2B (if I go for PV)?
Distance wise, its almost the same from my home… (1-2km)
I cannot decide which is a better school as they are both "ok" schools in their respective zones.
please advise … thanks ahead! -

It will be a waste if you choose to give up Chongfu under Phase 2A as it is a much sought-after school in Yishun. No doubt, the distance from Bishan to Yishun is quite far and the child will need to get up earlier.Jphua:
Hi all.. Your advice please... My hubby is old boy of Chongfu pri. But it's too far. I am 1-2km fr Kuo chuan Presbyterian and pei Chun.. If I do pv...do you think I stand a chance ?
Is it hard to be selected to be pv In these schools?
If we run into ballot, and if all pv are of the same distance fr school..then how does the school decide....? By draw lots? By merits of pv? Actual distance? Or...?
Kuo Chuan Presbyterian is a good school in Bishan with good and caring teachers, according to feedback from a friend whose children are studying there. In fact, she gives the school 2 thumbs-up. Getting into Kuo Chuan Presbyterian is less competitive compared to Pei Chun as the latter is popular with Toa Payoh residents.
Should there be balloting, pv will be differentiated by their distance from school (within 1km, within 2km and outside 2km) and for pv of the same distance category, it will be based on drawing lots.
Thanks for the info. Agree tht Bishan is abit far fr yishun.
What if I am old girl of Anderson pri (ang mo Kio )And it s 1-2km from home.
Will u choose Anderson over kuo chuan? -
