RE: Nanyang Primary
Hi mommyNg,
the P or VP seldom responds to emails....
the best way will be to set up a face to face meeting appt with her and bring up the issue face to face... the other way will be to voice out the concerns during the next PTA kopi session with the P... (the PTA route however is garnered by the PTA chairperson of the kopi session and all questions will be filtered... ie the P might not want to answer certain qns...)
Just my 2 cents worth of suggestions... and speaking from experience...mommyNg:
Sure! If she responds, that is.......
Please tell us her response.Busymom:
Ok, sent! Hopefully she'll respond soon!

RE: Nanyang Primary
Hi to all
Want check with all parents if your kid has also went thru the same tests when they were in P1… because I find the way they are doing it is abit strange in the sense that they are like trying to identify something that we as a parents do not know…
my ds is currently in P1 and recently came back and told us that the school has been doing some tests to check their knowledge… apparently ds has already sit for 3 tests and according to ds
. the first test was a 1 to 1 test, qns asked seems quite general on shapes, pictures, numbers, some puzzle like qns… this one seems like everyone in the class gets a chance to do…
. the second one, DS says their names was called out after one of the assembly and there was only abt 5 to 7 kids from each class being called and they were then asked to report to a teacher and then were led to a room to do a maths test … according to DS this 2nd test qns comprises of multiplication, subtraction, addition of 3digits numbers and there was 1 division qn… kid says he got to skip the division qn cos he don’t know…
. the most recent test, DS was tested by the same teacher on a PE test which according to DS, he was asked to do follow some very simple instructions like picking a ball and throwing it at a target, walking in a straight line, use a pencil and trace on a path, use a piece of string and string up some pieces of shapes in some way…
Wifey first thought was that this is some kind of IQ tests… but I really thought it seemed abit early for this… especially when the school term first started…and division has yet to be thought… and looking at the way the tests was done … this seems to be more than a knowledge check on the P1 kids…
Do you have any idea roughly what are these tests for? have your kids experienced the same tests?
TIA!
