RE: All About Choosing and Buying Violins
I think violin strings might be painful for a kid of this young age, likewise instrument like guitar as my child has tried on both before and lost interest in stringed instruments ever since. I dont know which schs are good but my advice is get a really patient teacher because how your child react in the first lesson will determine his future in that instrument learning…
good luck! -
RE: Drama / Dancing for kid 2.5 yrs old
2.5 is really young… maybe go for some rhythmic movement class to build up the physical coordination skill first? when older can go to this school-> kidz performing, musical-styled drama class for kids, saw them at a performance at forum shopping mall a couple of weeks ago…

RE: Music Course for 7 year old?
hi parents.. i recommend this music sch at orchard road, the sch is called magic fiddler. they specialise in music course for young kids..
my child is turning 6 soon, originally wanted to join their holiday program (only 8 lessons), but enjoyed the class so much and wanted to continue in 2011... im recommending it cos teachers there are very patient, and they are gd with handling young children, my boy is always looking forward to music class...
i have tried big music schs like yamaha (plaza sing) but i find that their tchers are not very passionate abt teaching... maybe it's my impression that they are more $ driven but i think my child needs the attention and more focused learning... he learns piano btw. he has tried learning violin from a private teacher but it looks so painful for him so we opt for piano instead.. i think 6/7yrs is the best age to start because once they turn older their fingers will not be that adaptable.... magic fiddle music sch has this course that allows your kid to try a few instruments such as piano/violin/drum/guitar/cello/ (a few more other options i cannot recall all of them) before signing up for a term so maybe you can enquire with them? if your kid is the kind who is indecisive i think it's better to go for trial... they have 2 branches... 1 at orchard 1 at city square.. hope this helps!
