I really don’t understand something. Performing arts CCAs have concerts usually only during may and october/november, some even once every 2 years. And yet some parents are complaining that their children are spending too much money on concerts and it also causes them to have no time to spend with their children. First of all, if your child chooses to go to a concert, which are so rare, over spending time with you, it means he/she either thinks that he/she spends enough time with you and/or is happier with his/her friends. And for the pricing of tickets, is $10 really a lot? Other schools have CCAs performing in esplanade where the cheapest ticket is more than $10. And by making concerts free does it solve a problem or create one? Several performing art CCAs have paid concerts that are always sold out, by making it free what if the number of people that show up exceeds the capacity of the PAC? People will be angry and sad that they have to sit on the steps, and also more people= more noise, creating a less pleasant environment to watch the concerts. And also the money paid goes to the school, which spends money on your children. Thus, i urge u to think again, concert periods are at most twice a year and are $10 per ticket, does that 2 hour/ $10 cost you a lot? If this has changed your mind i urge you to write to the school telling them that you understand why it should charge for concerts
